The famous, exhilarating Red and Gold Spirit Rally is tomorrow Friday,
November 7! Wear Red or Gold!
1. 7:30 am is the Senior Spell-Out. This is a picture event in the
court yard.
2. Rally Day schedule is as follows:
zero 7:29 to 8:24
1st 8:30 to 9:15
2nd 9:21 to 10:11
3rd 10:17 to 11:02
lunch 11:02 to 11:42
4th 11:48 to 12:33
5th 12:39 to 1:24
6th 1:30 to 2:05
Rally 2:20 to 3:15
3. Students who do not want to attend the rally may leave the campus
after 6th period. If they leave and change their mind they are not
allowed back on campus.
4. At 11:50 (the end of lunch) the campus will be locked down. That
is, no students will be allowed on campus. If they have lingered over
lunch, too bad, they will miss the rally.
5. During fifth period, administrators will distribute wrist bands to
all students in their sixth period class. Only students with wrist
bands may attend the rally. Students at Independent Studies will
receive wrist bands from their administrator who will accompany them
to the rally.
6. Students with no 6th period will spend that period in the library
or College and Career Center. If they leave the campus, they will not
be allowed back on EVEN if they have a wristband. All students will
leave their back packs in their sixth period classroom (or library or
CCC). After the rally, teachers will unlock their classrooms and wait
until 3:40 for students to pick them up.
7. All day, no liquid containers (water bottles, lotion bottles, etc)
are allowed on campus. Water will be sold (50 cents a bottle). This
is to say, no alcohol is allowed.
8. Next step. Students under the influence of alcohol will be sent to
OCI and held until their parents come pick them up. They will be
automatically suspended for four days--one of which is Friday itself.
Suspended students will return to school on Monday, Nov. 17. On Rally
Day there will be no time for parents to talk to an administrator.
They may make appointments starting Wednesday, Nov. 13.
9. Football game. Of course the point of the Rally is to cheer our
team on. Go YellowJackets! The JV football team will play at 4:30;
the varsity will play at 7. Tickets are $4 for students; $6 for
adults.
10. Volunteers--you knew I would get there. So far 33 wonderful adults
have stepped up. That is one parent for every 100 students. We could
use more.
a. This is new. Starting at 8am, the leadership class will be
setting up barricades on the football field. They are heavy. If you
are strong, they would love your help.
b. Starting at 11 we will be setting up water stations and marking
water bottles with stickers. We need your help.
c. Other volunteers are asked to report between 1 and 1:30 for
assignment.
ALL volunteers should report to the Front Desk in the Admin Building
to sign in and receive an assignment. Be sure to wear Red and/or Gold!
And expect to have a fun day. Our kids are great! Go Yellowjackets!
