Dear BHS Community,
We hope your summer has been relaxing and enjoyable. We would like to
let you know that the etree will be on vacation from July 26 through
August 7. If there are any notices that should go out on the etree
before August 8, please send them in early next week.

Some other announcements:

1) REGISTRATION: You can expect a mailing to arrive by mid-August at
the latest, which will give you information about registration and
Freshman orientation, as well as the PTSA newsletter, and other
important forms and information. DON'T THROW AWAY THE ENVELOPE, as
the mailing label contains the time that students need to come in for
their photo ID. Registration dates are:
    - Tuesday, August 19: Freshman Orientation/registration
    - Wednesday, August 20: 10th Grade
    - Thursday, August 21: 11th Grade
    - Friday, August 22: 12th Grade

2) SUMMER MAILING, July 23/24: Janet Huseby, our volunteer
coordinator, will be in the BHS Library from 8am to 4pm on Wednesday
and Thursday July 23 and 24 and she needs all the help she can get.
So far, 64 people have signed up to help, but to make it really work
she needs closer to 90 volunteers. Everyone--returning parents, new
parents, students, community--is welcome for all day, half day or one
hour slots. There will be parking available in the teachers' lots on
Milvia. Park and come up to the library. Cars will not be towed on
those two days so do not worry about the threatening signs. The front
door of the Admin Building (corner of Milvia and Allston Way) should
be open. Try both sides as sometimes only one--the non intuitive
one--is unlocked. Should you be unable to open the door, call Janet on
her cell phone which she will have with her at all times: (510)
501-6872. Refreshments will be served including a lunch.

3) SUMMER MAILING, TWO-HOUSEHOLD FAMILIES: The summer mailer will go
only to the address under which the student is registered, but if a
parent residing at a different address would like to come in to the
office to pick up a duplicate packet, they may do so beginning in
mid-August, but call the BHS office first for summer hours: 644-6120.
(Or, come help with the mailing and take one home--hint, hint.)

Please try to hold off on your questions to the etree until you have
received your summer mailing, and until we return from vacation in
August. The BHS main office may not be answering the phones until
mid-August.

Thank you!
