ABOUT THE SHOW: At first glance, Into the Woods is a lovely, humorous 
frolic into a world of familiar fairy tales where Cinderella, Jack 
(of Beanstalk fame), Rapunzel and Little Red Riding Hood set out on 
like adventures to find "happily ever after."  But Sondheim's 
intricate and haunting music, along with satirical lyrics and a truly 
twisted plot turn this world on its end.  We find that, in the woods, 
wishes aren't simple, that all of us are fallible, and that often, 
growing up means coming to terms with our deepest fears.  A humorous 
and poignant story set to some of Sondheim's most gorgeous and 
powerful music. Suitable for ages 8  through adult.

YMTC shows attract a broad audience due not only to their 
professional quality productions, but also because the group allows 
talented young actors to go far beyond the "safe" repertoire of 
typical high school musicals.  "When Into The Woods is performed by 
young people, usually only the first act is done.  The darker, wiser, 
gorgeous second act is often considered too difficult for young 
people to handle.  We're doing the whole thing, and this talented 
cast is completely up to the challenge," said Jennifer Boesing, YMTC 
Artistic Director.  "This is a smart, funny, touching musical comedy 
that utterly transports you into a magical, unpredictable world."
