be holding auditions the first week in June for its fall show.
FIDDLER, which is based on Sholem Aleichem's tales of shtetl life in
Russia at the end of the 19th century, is a classic musical about the
tension between keeping traditions and family together, while facing a
changing, sometimes violent new world. We are looking for singers,
actors and dancers of all ethnicities. On the surface this is a story
about Russian Jews, but it is truly a story about all immigrants who
have to leave their homes, traditions and families behind to make new lives for
themselves somewhere else. Information meeting on May 19 at 5:00 at
Willard Middle School's Metal Shop Theater. For more information, go to
www.ymtcberkeley.org.
