The Berkeley Athletic Fund is the all volunteer, non-profit 
fundraising organization for Berkeley High School Athletics (tax id 
number 94-3006966).  Berkeley High School has a rich and robust 
athletic program that has grown to more than 60 teams in 28 varsity 
sports! These teams are comprised of about 1,100 student-athletes, 
about 1/3 of the total BHS student body.

All funds raised go directly to athletics except for fund raising 
expenses, insurance, license fees and a 10% BUSD parking lot deposit.

Each year we raise funds by:

1. Fall fund raising letter to the BHS community.

2. Spring BHS Athletic Hall of Fame event.  This year it will include 
a golf tournament at Tilden on May 2nd and the Hall of Fame event on 
May 3rd.

3. Parking Lot - teams and parents staff the BHS parking lots (old 
tennis courts) on weekends and for special events. 

4. eScrip - BHS Development Group gives BAF 25% of the revenue from eScrip

5. BHS wearables - sale of hats, jackets, sweats, t-shirts and pj bottoms.

For the past 4 years, BAF has given BHS over $25,000 per year to keep 
the program at the current level including freshman sports.  BAF use 
to give grants to teams for equipment and uniforms, but with the 
$25,000 needed for the program, teams are raising their own funds 
through the parking lot, concession stands and contributions.
