Administration
1. Canned food drive has begun. Please bring your canned food items
to your second period classroom. The class with the most canned foods
will receive a pizza party in December. The food is for the holiday
meal scheduled for December 15th.
Clubs
1. Got Independence? Independent Theatre Projects is coming. Freshmen,
Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors who are interested in theatre should
come to room C213 at lunch on November 20 for more information.
Remember: this is your brain, and this is your independence.
*2. If you missed last month's, Tuesday 11/20 is the next condom club!
Come learn the facts about HIV STIs and how to be safe at lunch in
room H114. Remember, you must attend the entire lunch period to get a
sticker on the back of your ID, which is good for the rest of your
time at BHS! Snacks will be served. Brought to you by PASSHEN.
*3. The Health Center will be having a bake sale on Wednesday,
November 21st at the Community Theater steps. Look for the Health
center table at lunchtime to buy some delicious baked goods.

*1. Congrats to the following waterpolo players on their post-season
award:
1st Team All North Coast Section, Team MVP, League MVP (3rd year in a
row)

*2. Congrats to the field hockey team on their All Blossom Valley
Athletic League Awards:

Senior / Junior Section
*1. SOPHOMORES and JUNIORS- Tuesday, November 20 at lunch,
representatives from the Davis Scholarship Committee will be here to
answer questions about the Davis Scholarship. The Davis Scholarship
program is a full scholarship to attend a United World College at one
of their campuses world wide. The United World Colleges are
international schools where high school students from all over the
world study for the full international baccalaureate. The campuses
are located in many countries including Switzerland, India, Norway,
Hong Kong and Singapore. For more information go to www.uwc.org.
*2. Soroptimist Award- open to women ages 14-17 who have demonstrated
initiative in both identifying a problem and trying to solve it, who
is committed to making the world a better place, who has had
significant and noteworthy accomplishments as a volunteer. $1000
award to 28 winners. Applications available in D221. Received
Deadline: December 1.
3. Senior yearbook info- Get your senior page contract in room H102.
Pages are going fast and are limited. You can not have a page without
this contract. Pages cost $60 - $180. Deadline- December 5th.
Events / Performances
*1. There will be a small memorial for Yonas Mehari during 4th period
on Wednesday, November 21st. This memorial will be held in the
College and Career Center. If you would like to attend, you must come
by C107 to get a permission slip from Ms. Friedman. Permission slips
must be completed and turned in by Tuesday if you would like to attend
the memorial.
*2. Did you know that in the US around 40,000 people are infected with
HIV each year? Students, learn how to protect yourself and help stop
the spread of HIV and AIDS. Ask your teachers to take your class to
WORLD AIDS Day in the Donahue Gym on the morning of Friday, November
30th. Come and join thousands around the world in honoring those who
have lost their lives to AIDS.
*3. Auditions! GREASE is the word and the Spring musical! Auditions
open to all, especially Freshman. Sign up now in the A bldg- A203.
4. The 7th Annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities tour
will be held April 1 - April 8, 2008 (Tour A). If any student is
interested in the tour, please see Mrs. Parker in room D224.
