At the most recent meeting of the School Governance Council the
following "Visitor Policy" was approved. The policy is a formalized
version of what has been in practice for several years.

>From a parent point of view, the main issue is that the school does
not allow people to drop in on a class without an appointment. This
is mainly because dropping in can very disruptive to classes. If you
want to speak to your child's teacher, please make an appointment
first. There are three ways to make an appointment: (a) email (go to
http://bhs.berkeley.net/index.php?page=staff-directory for a complete
list of email addresses), (b) note in the teacher's box located across
from the front desk, or last option, (c) phone message.
