Administration

1.  Acheivers will be here next week (October 10-12) to accept class 
ring, cap and gown and other graduation product orders.  If you have 
questions, please call or email achievers directly @ 408-441-7200 or

2. The College/Career Center will be closed during sixth period until 
Monday, October 22 until new behavior guidelines have been determined.

3. Confidential Drug and Alcohol Therapy group starts today at lunch. 
A good place to talk about your drug use and get support and advice 
for making changes in your life.  Go to H215 for details.

Rally Information

*1. Spirit week is coming soon- October 22-26!
Monday-60's/70's, Tuesday- Toga Day, Wednesday- Superhero
Thursday- 80's day/ Backwards Day(underclassman), Friday - Red and Gold Day

Clubs

1. Informational meeting for Berkeley Women's rugby on Monday, 
October 15th at lunch in G302.

2. Yearbooks will be sold all next week at lunch time!  Seniors get 
baby pictures in ASAP in H102- only at 7th period.

Sports

*1. Interested in wrestling this season for Berkeley High?  Come to 
the Athletic Office and sign up on Thursday, October 18th at lunch. 
First day of practice is only 4 weeks away!  Find out if you have 
what it takes to compete in the toughest sport around!  Any boy or 
girl from 80 pounds to 275 pounds is invited to join.

*2. Neff returns for Letter Jacket sales:  Wednesday October 24th at lunch.

*3. The girl's tennis team continues to dominate.  Their record is 
now 11-1.  Their next home matches are at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 
16th and Wednesday, Oct.17 at the King courts on Hopkins St.  Friends 
and families, please come out.

4. To all BHS students who want to tryout for basketball, soccer or 
wrestling:  You must have a valid annual physical and a complete 
athletic packet to try out.  Now is the time to get a physical! 
Athletic packets are available in the athletic office or in the front 
office.  Turn it into the coach on first day of practice.  All winter 
sports start on Monday, November 5.   Don't miss your opportunity to 
play- get your paperwork together now!

Senior / Junior Section

1. Essay Readers and workshops- Essay readers will be available in 
the College/Career Center at lunch time this week and next.  No 
sign-ups are necessary; just bring your essay draft.

2. APPLY TO THE UC's AND CAL SATES NOW! The UC application is now 
available online at 
http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/.  You can start 
your application and work on it now.  The first day to submit your 
application is November1.  The Cal State application is available at 
www.csumentor.edu.  You can start the applications and save them as 
you go.  Sign up attend the application workshops where you can get 
one on one help with both applications.  All workshops will be held 
in the BHS library.  Thursday, 10/18- 7:30 a.m., Tuesday, 10/23-3:30 
p.m., Friday, 10/26- 7:30 a.m., MONDAY, 10/29- 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, 
10/30- 7:30 a.m.    More dates in November.

3. SENIORS-Sign up in the College/ Career Center to attend these 
college visits.  You must get an authorization (Available in D221) 
signed by the teacher whose class you will miss.
