Administration
1. Acheivers will be here next week (October 10-12) to accept class
ring, cap and gown and other graduation product orders. If you have
questions, please call or email achievers directly @ 408-441-7200 or

2. Come to the AC leadership bake sale in the park on Thursday,
October 11th, 2007. Support the academic choice leadership and enjoy
yummy baked goods!
3. The College/Career Center will be closed during sixth period until
Monday, October 22 until new behavior guidelines have been determined.
4. Confidential Drug and Alcohol Therapy group starts October 15th at
lunch. A good place to talk about your drug use and get support and
advice for making changes in your life. Go to H215 for details.
Rally Information
1. Spirit week is coming soon- October 22-26! Support your class with
a t-shirt design or by joining the rally dance. The Associated
Student Body, ASB, is currently taking ideas for spirit week! Bring
them by D148 or come by for more information.
Clubs
1. Go to Washington D.C. and meet Hilary, Obama, and Barbara Lee. It
is an exciting town to visit and see our government. Please come to
an informational meeting about close-up on Thursday, October 11th at
lunch in G201.
2. Come to French Club! Everyone is welcome to join. We meet every
Friday at lunch in room C102. Join the club and watch movies play
games, and do much more! Also, be sure to come to our bake sale
next Monday at lunch and ask us how you can go to France!
Sports
1. Girls Volleyball is playing against our biggest rival Richmond
High. Come and support your lady jackets. JV match begins at 4:30
pm and Varsity at 5:30 pm. Admission is free. See ya there!
2. Attention all boys and girls interested in wrestling for BHS. Come
to a meeting today, October 11th at lunch in the athletic office.
3. To all BHS students who want to tryout for basketball, soccer or
wrestling: You must have a valid annual physical and a complete
athletic packet to try out. Now is the time to get a physical!
Athletic packets are available in the athletic office or in the front
office. Turn it into the coach on first day of practice. All winter
sports start on Monday, November 5. Don't miss your opportunity to
play- get your paperwork together now!
Senior / Junior Section
1. Essay Readers and workshops- Essay readers will be available in
the College/Career Center at lunch time this week and next. No
sign-ups are necessary; just bring your essay draft.
2. APPLY TO THE UC's AND CAL SATES NOW! The UC application is now
available online at
http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/. You can start
your application and work on it now. The first day to submit your
application is November1. The Cal State application is available at
www.csumentor.edu. You can start the applications and save them as
you go. Sign up attend the application workshops where you can get
one on one help with both applications. All workshops will be held
in the BHS library. Thursday, 10/18- 7:30 a.m., Tuesday, 10/23-3:30
p.m., Friday, 10/26- 7:30 a.m., MONDAY, 10/29- 3:30 p.m., Tuesday,
10/30- 7:30 a.m. More dates in November.
3. SENIORS-Sign up in the College/ Career Center to attend these
college visits. You must get an authorization (Available in D221)
signed by the teacher whose class you will miss.
