RECRUITING BHS SENIORS FOR YOUTH TUTORING/MENTORING

The Multicultural Institute, a local non-profit organization striving
to reduce racial and economic inequality in education and promote
readiness for college success, is recruiting high school student
volunteers for the Mentoring for Academic Success after-school program
at Thousand Oaks and/or Black Pine Circle schools (West Berkeley).

Students would commit to tutoring for 1-1/2 hrs. a day, 2-4 days a
week, or to being on call to fill in for other tutors on an as-needed
basis. Proficiency in Spanish is desired. After one successful
semester of volunteer work, student tutors would be eligible to apply
for a paid position.
