Spenger's Fresh Fish Grotto in Berkeley Announces Backpack Drive
Month-Long Effort in August 2007 to Help Underprivileged Youth
In the spirit of helping those in need during the upcoming
"back to school" season, Spenger's Fresh Fish Grotto in Berkeley has
announced a month-long school backpack collection drive to be held during
August, organized to provide backpacks for underprivileged children via
The Berkeley Boosters/Police Activities League (PAL).
Throughout the August, Spenger's will give
away a $10.00 dining certificate in exchange for every new or good
condition backpack dropped off at the restaurant. This gift certificate is
good for lunch or dinner at Spenger's.
The Berkeley Boosters PAL program hosts after school recreational
activities such as arts and crafts, camping, hiking, basketball, soccer,
swimming, tutoring and youth leadership programs, plus summer camp, for
