The Berkeley Public Library proudly Announces:
Reading in Common, Building Berkeley, Book by Book selection The Kite
Runner, by Khaled Hosseini
This summer, the Berkeley Public Library, the Friends of the Berkeley
Public Library, and the Berkeley Public Library Foundation invite
everyone in Berkeley to read and talk about Khaled Hosseini's, The
Kite Runner.
A story of friendship, betrayal, and redemption, The Kite Runner
represents a compelling drama that unfolds in Afghanistan and
California.
The Kite Runner kicks-off the Berkeley Public Library's Reading in
Common, Building Berkeley, Book by Book series.
On Wednesday, June 20th, the Berkeley Public Library will be giving
out free copies of The Kite Runner at Berkeley's Senior Centers
starting at 11:30 am and at the Berkeley Public Library's Branches and
Central Library, starting at 1:00 pm. Supplies are limited and
offered on a first come, first served basis. The Kite Runner is also
available in collections throughout the Berkeley Public Library and at
many of Berkeley's bookstores.
The Berkeley Public Library brings together Berkeley's diverse
community to read and discuss one book through its Reading in Common
series. With a generous donation from the Friends of the Berkeley
Public Library, the Library gives out free copies of books at its
branches and at Central as well as at Berkeley's senior centers.
