College Admissions Essays and Personal Statements Workshop
For: Students and Parents
Don't miss a chance to wow the college admissions
committee with an effective personal statement. Learn
how to select a topic that's right for you; how to get
to your first draft; and how to create a personal
statement that is both compelling and representative
of the 'real' you. Get tips on the DO's and DON'T's of
writing as well as a clear understanding of how
admissions committees rely on your essays to make
decisions. You'll hear it all from an expert.
Marilynn Aiches is a certified educational consultant
with a private practice in Berkeley. She authored a
manual on college admissions essays for other
professionals and she reads for UC Berkeley
Admissions.
Bring all of your questions, a pencil and paper and
get started. The summer before senior year is the best
time to finish your essays and personal statements!
Tuesday, June 19th at 7PM at Classroom Matters: 2436 Sacramento
