Congratulations to the Berkeley High School Varsity and Junior Varsity
Chess Teams for placing 5th and 4th, respectively, in the California
State Chess Championships in San Mateo on April 28th and 29th.

The following members represented BHS:
Mason Eastman, Elliott Jardin, Andrew Yun, Geoff Zoehfeld, Keith
Moffatt, Lucien Kahn, Ethan Kimball, Francis Langbein, Anthony
Granados, Jacob Harris, Jonah Trotz-Liboff, Michael Stock-Matthews,
Bryan Farb, Gavin Saldanha, Ben Gould, Chris Lamb and Benji Hannus.

Special honors were achieved in Junior Varsity by Anthony Granados and
Benji Hannus for getting 12th and 13th overall, and in Varsity by
Elliott Jardin for being the top player among those rated under 1500. 

Others receiving individual recognition were Bryan Farb, Ben Gould,
Jacob Harris, Chris Lamb, Gavin Saldanha, Jonah Trotz-Liboff and
Michael Stock-Matthews.
