Beginning of School Information
1. School starts on Wednesday, August 30 at 8:30 a.m. There will be
no zero period.
2. If you are planning on dropping your child off at school, please
be aware that the Berkeley police will be ticketing vehicles which
are double parked or dropping students off in areas other than the
white drop off zones along Milvia and Allston Way.
3. Cars parked in the teachers' lots along Milvia and next to the
football field will be towed if they do not display a BHS parking
permit..
4. For students who missed registration. Make Up day is Tuesday,
August 29 in the foyer of the Community Theater from 9 to noon and
from 1 to 3 pm.
5. Students must return their overdue books in order to receive their schedule.
6. Students who did not turn in their forms (especially the emergency
card) MUST drop them in the Form box located in the Information
window by the Front Door on the first day of school. This is
important!
7. Friday. September 1 is the LAST day students may request a
schedule change. Once a student submits a schedule change they must
continue to attend the classes found on the original schedule. Once
a change is approved, the counselors will send the amended schedule
to the student via a volunteer. This could take a week or more as
counselors' first priority is putting together schedules for newly
enrolled students.
8. The first Late Start Day is Wednesday, September 20. On that day
school will begin at 10 a.m. There will be no Zero Period.
9. Back to School Night is Thursday, September 28.
10. Volunteers are needed for Make Up day (item 3) and for schedule
deliveries (item 6) as well as attendance runs. If you can help.
