SAT WORD OF THE DAY: EVANESCENT - existing for only a moment;
vanishing. Some subatomic particles are highly evanescent; they
vanish from existence almost immediately after forming.
*Ms. Abrams will be away from school today and tomorrow at a
counselor's conference. There will be no College Advisor's Bulletin
on Thursday and Friday.
FOOD AND DRINK DONATIONS NEEDED FOR SENIOR AWARDS CEREMONY The Senior
Awards Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, June 7 at 7:00 p.m. in the
Community Theater. This is a wonderful tradition where we honor
seniors for all of their accomplishments and successes. The ceremony
is followed by a reception. If you can donate baked goods (finger
foods only, please) or drinks (water, juice or soda), please e-mail
or call (644-6804) me. Thanks very much.
JOB OPENINGS
*Office Assistant - Albany Physical Therapy, 948 San Pablo Avenue,

Alameda County Fair is looking for students to work from June 23-July

Friday, June 2 - Last day for students to turn in a Transcript
Request Form to Ms. Mellion in D173 so that we can send an official
transcript to the school you will be attending in the fall. Write
"FINAL TRANSCRIPT" in capital letters across the top of the form and
paperclip it to a stamped business size envelope addressed to the
college, with Berkeley High School (1980 Allston Way, Berkeley 94704)
as the return address. If you are under 18, please remember to have
your parent or guardian sign the request form. All colleges require
that students send them a final transcript confirming their senior
year grades.
If you are getting below a C in any of your classes and are planning
to attend a four year college in the fall, you MUST contact the
college to discuss this. All colleges will receive a copy of your
final transcript. By contacting the college and discussing your
options with them, you may be able to prevent your admission from
being rescinded. Please see me if you would like to discuss your
grades or what to say to the college.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Univision 14 Exito Escolar Scholarship. Open to junior and senior
Latino youth living in the Bay Area. Award amounts vary.
Applications available in D221. Deadline: June 2 - received at
Univision office in SF.
Kaiser Permanente Latino Association 2006 Scholarship (KPLA) -
Available to Latino seniors who will be attending a four year college
or university. Three $2,000 and one $1,000 scholarship will be
awarded. Applications available in D221. Deadline: May 31.
Berkeley Chamber of Commerce Scholarship - Scholarships awarded on
the basis of scholastic achievement, financial need, citizenship,
leadership, service and employment. Parent must be a member of the
Berkeley Chamber of Commerce. $1,000. Deadline: June 15.
FOR SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS
*JUNIORS - Don't forget to save your graded papers after school is
over. Some private colleges ask for them as part of the application
process.

campus, including admissions, majors, financial aid and important
contact information.

SUMMER PROGRAMS
*Free Summer Flight Academy sponsored by the San Francisco Bay Area
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen for students ages 14-18. July 10-21, 8:00
a.m. to noon. You will receive 40 hours of ground school and some
actual flying time. Applications available in the College/Career
