[BHS etree] SENIORS: Urgent Senior Ball Information

The BHS Office of Student Activities was informed by CALTRANS today
5/22/06, that the east bound direction coming to Oakland from San
Francisco will be closed Saturday Night 12:00am-11:00am Sunday
Morning.  This closure will impact all students planning to attend
the BHS Senior Ball at the Hotel Nikko, 222 Mason St. in San
Francisco, on June 3rd, 2006.

The alternate directions for leaving San Francisco after the prom
are:
* Use of the Golgen Gate Bridge to Richmond
* Use of the San Mateo Bridge through to 880 Hayward
* Use of BART which will operate throughout the night (recommended)

CALTRANS will be providing our office with a map and specific
instructions which will be forwarded immediately upon its arrival.  I
would like to make the following recommendations and provide this
important information:

1) Please notify Limousine companies of the any and all traffic
updates.
2) Make sure all student drivers have clear directions on how to get
home after the prom.
3) Students can dial 511 from the cell phones for the latest traffic
information.  ("Request Road Conditions" and say "Bay Bridge")
3) Encourage students to remain at the prom until 12:30am as to miss
the gridlock of traffic from people trying to beat the closure time.
4) Have students ride bart or carpool.
5) Drive Safe and Sober.  Cone Zones will be in full effect.
6) Plan to leave the east bay no later than 7:00pm.  Traffic will be
heavy.
