[BHS etree] JAZZ: BHS Jazz Combos Win Monterey Jazz Competition

Congratulations to the Berkeley High Jazz Combos which won first and
third places this past weekend at the 49th Annual Monterey Jazz
National High School Competition.  Berkeley High's two combos were
among six selected nationally to compete in this festival.  In
addition, three Berkeley High musicians -- Julian Pollack on piano,
Billy Buss on trumpet, and Danny Lubin-Laden on trombone, won the
Festival's individual soloists awards for their instruments.

You can enjoy the music of the BHS jazz combos and ensemble along
with other well-known Bay Area musicians and bands all day free at
the Fourth Street Jazz Festival, Sunday, May 21st, on Fourth Street
in Berkeley.
