Administration
1. The dates for the Honors Algebra 2 and Honors Math Analysis tests are
April 3rd and April 5th from 3:30 - 4:15 p.m. in H306. Please contact
Mr.
Weitz via email at <mweitz at berkeley.k12.ca.us>. to sign up for the
test. Ask your current math
teacher for more information.
2. Juniors, sophomores and freshman: Do you want to be the president of
your class? Pick up an application for student Government in D148!
Applications are due next Friday!
3. Attention all staff and students: There is no Junior Class Town Hall
meeting scheduled today! DO NOT RELEASE YOUR STUDENTS. It is scheduled
for April 6th at 11:00 am.
4. MORP is this Friday! We will be selling tickets for $5 at the
community theater box office today, Thursday and Friday. Bring your ID
and get your tickets now!
5. Reward for lost cell phone: A BHS Health Center staff lost her
cell phone this week
at the park during the fire alarm. It is a grey Samsung Verizon
flip- service has been shut off. If found, please bring it to the
Health
Center front desk for a reward.
6. JOBS: Recreation Activity Leader: Call the City of Berkeley Parks
and
Recreation at 981-5150. $13.76 per hour to start. Deadline to apply:
April 21st. Other aquatic positions are available as well.
Clubs
1. Earphone English in C116 at lunch on Wednesday. Come get extra
credit
for the end of the grading period on Friday.
2. BHS MTB Club continues its season by hammering at Race #3 of Norcal
High School Series and retains 2nd overall in Division 1! Out of 9 of
our
girl riders – 4 placed. Out of 18 boy riders, 3 of our boys placed.
3. The next two trials of the Berkeley High Student Court as being held
on
Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Come earn Community service credit
and help out your classmates, arrive at 5:00 p.m. on either day at the
Berkeley City Council Chambers.
Sports
1. All Winter athletes must turn in uniforms and equipment to the
Athletic
Office at lunch or after school as soon as possible. Missing or lost
equipment must be either turned in or paid for in order to earn letter
and
athletic credit.
Senior / Junior Section
1. College Visits:
Wednesday, March 29- 9:30 am: Information on the Building Trades.
2. Admitted to San Diego State? Attend the Explore SDSU day on
Saturday,
April 8 from 8:00 am to 3:00 p.m. You will get information on financial
aid,
housing, academics, student life and more. To RSVP go to

3. Two new scholarships for African-American females. The Olga Jane
Lewis
Scholarship requires a 3.5 unweighted GPA. The Ida Louise Jackson
Scholarship requires a 3.0 GPA. Each one is for $1,000.
4. For seniors- Claude Clark Memorial scholarship Fund- This scholarship
is for African and African American seniors graduating from Bay Area
High
Schools. Three $3,000 scholarships will be awarded. Deadline: April 15.
Events/ Performance
1. Attention Juniors! Junior Prom ticket sales at lunch in the Allston
Way Box office. Ticket sales are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of
every week at lunch. Tickets will start at $60.00 each and will go up
$5
each week with a maximum ticket price of $75.00 per ticket. Remember!
Prom is April 29th.
SALES
1. Attention all Juniors and Seniors! Come order your tuxedos today,
March 29, at lunchtime in front of the Allston Way Box office. If it
is
raining, please report to D148 for tuxedo orders.
2. Hear yea! Hear yea! On Monday, April 2nd bring all your riches for a
bake sale held by the Middle Earth Society. The elves will bake plenty
of
Lembas of course, and if we’re unlucky, the ores might even bring some
of
their food. Monday at lunch at the brick steps across from the
c-building.
3. BART ticket orders will be taken March 30, and 31st at lunchtime in
room D224. Price per ticket is $16.00. Cash only.
4. Yearbooks are on sale in H102 everyday at lunch and after school.
They
are $70 dollars. Make checks payable to BHS yearbooks.
