STUDENT DAILY BULLETIN

Administration
1.	Do you want to go to the Girls State Finals in Sacramento?  Well join
the Rooter bus and go.  You get a ride, snack and a ticket to the game 
all
for $25.00!  This is a chance to support the team and enjoy the day.
Purchase tickets at lunch or after school in the BOC.  Get tickets while
they last….

2.	Attention CSF Participants!  The tutoring requirement for the spring
2006 semester only has been changed from 3 to 4 hours.

3.	The dates for the Honors Algebra 2 and Honors Math Analysis tests are
April 3rd and April 5th from 3:30 - 4:15 in  H306.  Please contact Mr.
Weitz via email at <mweitz at berkeley.k12.ca.us> to sign up for the test. 
  Ask your current math
teacher for more information.

4.	Are you planning on taking an Advanced Placement AP course next year?
If so, you must come to a lunchtime informational meeting Thursday or
Friday to hear important course information and pick up an informational
packet:   AP Biology will be in G212; AP Chemistry will be in G215; AP 
Physics will
be in G217;  AP Environmental science will be in G209.

5.	Do you like Science?  Do you want a paid summer internship at a 
biotech
company like Bayer or Chiron?  Do you like working with hi-tech
equipment?  If you’re a sophomore, apply for the Biotech Academy.  Pick 
up
an application from Mr. Fong in G305 or Dr. Stone in G304.  Applications
are still available and due back early next week.

6.	Student Government applications are now available in Ms.
McKnight-Johnson’s office,  D148 in the main office, and in the SLC.  
Pick
up one today!

7.	The MORP (Prom backwards) is re-scheduled for March 31st from 6:30-10
pm in the BHS Food Court.  If you already have purchased tickets, you 
will
be added to the guest list.  All others can still purchase tickets on
Monday at the Allston Way box office at lunch and after school.   
Tickets
are $5 per person. Special Guest Artist will be performing!  See you 
there!

8.	Come audition for Dance Production 2007!  This year’s sophomores and
juniors are invited to audition for next year’s class.  The Audition is
Thursday, March 16th after school.  Rehearsals start this Wednesday at
lunch.  Come see Ms. Carr in the A building for more info.  If you love 
to
dance, come on by!


Clubs

1.	Come to the APIC meeting during lunch in G302 on Thursday!

2.	Earphone English meets today at lunch in C116.  Want to hear a 
specific
book?  Come place a special request with Francisca.

3.	The club commissioners meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, March
16th at lunch in Conference Room A.  A representative from each club 
must
attend.  New accounting procedures will be presented.

4.	Come be a juror for the Berkeley High student court.  Earn community
service and help out your fellow students.  There are two trials this
week:  Tuesday and Thursday.  Please come to the second floor of the 
green
domed building across from the park (Berkeley City Council Chambers).
Please arrive at 5:00 pm.

5.	Physical inactivity increases the risk of dying prematurely, dying of
heart disease and developing diabetes, colon cancer, and high blood
pressure.  Stay active.  Stay healthy. Brought to you by the BHS Youth
Advisory Board.

Sports
1.	Girls Basketball:  BHS vs. Cal Poly on Saturday, March 18th 6:00 pm 
at
the Arco Arena in Sacramento.  Please support the Lady Jackets!

Senior / Junior Section

1.	For seniors- Claude Clark Memorial scholarship Fund- This scholarship
is for African and African American seniors graduating from Bay Area 
High
Schools.  Three $3,000 scholarships will be awarded. Deadline: April 15.

2.	JUNIORS- The next day to sign up for an appointment with either Ms.
Abrams or Mr. Stringfellow is Tuesday, March 21 at 8:00 pm in D221.  You
may not sign up if you already had an appointment with either Ms. Abrams
or Mr. Stringfellow or if you signed up for an appointment and missed 
it.

3.	East Bay Consortium of Educational Institutions Scholarship – Thirty
$2,500 scholarships will be awarded for students attending four year
college, nineteen $1,000 scholarships for students attending community
colleges.  Must be a graduating senior who will be attending a four year
accredited college or university, or a community college or a
vocational/technical school.  Students must have a minimum 2.0 if
attending a community college or vocational school, active participation
in extracurricular activities and financial need.  Applications 
available
in D221.  Deadline: April 21.

5.	Tzu Chi foundation Scholarship- Seniors are selected based on 
financial
need, academic achievement and community involvement.  Minimum 
unweighted
GPA of 3.0.  $1,000 scholarship.  Deadline: March 31st.

6.	Seniors!  Did you miss your Senior Portrait appointment!  Did you
forget to schedule one?  Well, you now have one more opportunity to be
featured on the Senior Formal Memory poster.  Appointments are available
on March 15th and 16th from 2:30 – 7:00 pm here at BHS.  Contact

Events/ Performance

1.	Attention Juniors!  Junior Prom ticket sales will resume Tuesday, 
March
21st at lunch in the Allston Way Box office.  Ticket sales are Tuesday,
Wednesday, and Thursday of every week at lunch.  Tickets will start at
$60.00 each and will go up $5 each week with a maximum ticket price of
$75.00 per ticket.  Remember! Prom is April 29th.

2.	Come learn about Advanced Theatre Projects 2006-2007.  Next year 
we’ll
be doing two fall plays and many other projects.  Auditions are next 
week-
find out how to prepare this Friday at lunch in the drama room.

3.	The Berkeley High School Jazz Ensemble and combos spring Jazz concert
is March 17th.  Come hear what the musicians are up to.  BHS students,
teachers and staff are free!!  Others $10 please.  We will have lots of
delicious food for sale before the concert and at intermission so bring
your appetites.  This is all happening at the Little Theater at BHS.
Tickets are available at the door.  Box office opens at 7:00 pm.  For

SALES
1.	BART tickets for March are here.  Please pick up your tickets in room
D224 at lunchtime only.

2.	BART ticket orders will be taken March 30, and 31st at lunchtime in
room D224.  Price per ticket is $16.00

3.	Yearbooks are on sale in H102 everyday at lunch and after school.  
They
are $70 dollars.  Make checks payable to BHS yearbooks.
