STUDENT DAILY BULLETIN

Administration

1.	TODAY, March 3, 2006 is College T-Shirt Day!

2.	BSEP Meeting on Monday, March 6th from 4:30 – 7:30 pm.  The agenda
items are as follows:  Establish a quorum, Introductions, Approval of
agenda/ changes, Review and approval of minutes of previous meeting,
Public Comment: Collaboration between Academic Pathways Project, the
Student Learning Center, and Math Algebra Tutors proposals, update on
surveys, discussion of criteria for acceptable BSEP Proposals, Discuss 
and
vote on which programs to kep for consideration and which programs to 
drop
from consideration, discuss and vote on proposals.  This will include
input from committee members who visited BSEP funded programs from last
year that resubmitted proposals this year.

3.	The MORP (Prom backwards) is scheduled for March 10th from 6-10 pm in
the BHS Food Court.  This is an informal prom where Juniors and Seniors
have to be guest of a Freshman or a Sophomore.  Tickets are $5.00 per
students and only BHS students can attend.  You can purchase tickets at
lunch from the box office on Allston Way.  Special Guest Artist will be
performing!  See you there!

4.	Career / Job Fair “Pathways to Success”, Thursday, March 9th.  Guest
Speakers and many representatives.  Community Theater, Little Theater, 
and
the Courtyard.


Clubs

1.	If you would like to participate in the making of the ELL yearbook,
please come to our first meeting today at lunch.  Exchange club members
are welcome!

2.	Thanks to the enthusiastic students who made our first Library
Lunchtime café a success!  Based on their input, we will continue our
lunchtime cafes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.  Bring your lunch; 
eat
at a table with flowers and a tablecloth.  Feed your body and your mind 
at
the same time!

Sports
1.  Congratulations to the Lady Yellowjackets Basketball team for their
victory over Liberty High school last night.  They move on to the
semi-final round of the NCS Division I Tournament against Washington of
Fremont at Washington on Friday night at 7:30 pm.  The winner moves to 
the
final game on Saturday at the Oakland Coliseum.  Tickets may be 
purchased
at Washington for $8/ $5.  Follow the results of the tournament at

Senior / Junior Section

1.	College Visits:


2.	Meleia Willis-Starbuck Memorial Scholarship For Social Justice –
Graduating senior who plans to attend two or four year college next year
who has participated in work to further the cause of Social Justice, has
financial need and a minimum GPA of 2.5.  Applications available in 
D221.
Received Deadline: March 30th at 4:00 pm in D221.

3.	Seniors!  Did you miss your Senior Portrait appointment!  Did you
forget to schedule one?  Well, you now have one more opportunity to be
featured on the Senior Formal Memory poster.  Appointments are available
on March 15th and 16th from 2:30 – 7:00 pm here at BHS.  Contact

4.	Chicano-Latino Youth Leadership Project Summer conference.  Open to
current 10th and 11th graders, the conference will take place at
Sacramento State University from July 29-August 5.  The conference is 
free
to students who are selected.  Applications are available in D221.
Deadline: March 22.

Events/ Performance
1.	Come hear the Berkeley High Jazz ensemble and Combos at Yoshi’s on
Monday, March 6.  In addition to their standard repertoire, they will be
performing an original composition by and with BHS Alum and Jazz great,
Peter Apfelbaum.  Each show will feature a combo and the big band.
Tickets are $15.   Show times are 8:00pm and 10:00 pm.  Please call

SALES
1.	Yearbooks are on sale in H102 everyday at lunch and after school.  
They
are $70 dollars.  Make checks payable to BHS yearbooks.
