No Kidding—Tuesday is Last Day to Become A Writing Coach!

Have you been procrastinating?  We can always use more writing
coaches in the largest on-going volunteer program at BHS.  Register
now to become a volunteer writing coach and attend the last training
of the academic year, starting Tuesday evening.  WriterCoach
Connection coaches—who represent diverse ethnicities, ages, and walks
of life—are helping to chip away at the achievement gap.  For a small
investment of time each week, you can help students master thinking
and ! writing skills, support teachers, and be tuned in to what is
going on at BHS. “The glint in the eye when you strike a chord is
worth it all,” said one coach.

You don’t have to be a writer or teacher.  WCC training gives you
strategies to help kids—including your own—gain confidence, improve
skills and complete assignments:

Session C:    Tuesdays    2/21 & 2/28     6:30-9:30 PM

Join a fabulous team of volunteers who work one-on-one with students
in BHS English classes or at the lunchtime Writers Café.  Coaches
commit to a regular, 1 to 2-hour timeslot each week, during the
