Administration
1.	Late Start Wednesday, December 7th. 
Please remember school starts at 10:00 AM.

2.	Girls: "Speak on It" is cancelled today! 
It will resume on December 14th.

3.	If you need a duplicate ID picture or an 
ID picture, you need to go to D173 and sign up to 
take your ID picture.  ID pictures will be taken 
on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting next week 
12/13, during lunch and after school.  YOU MUST 
SIGN UP FIRST IN ORDER TO GET YOUR ID PICTURE 
TAKEN.

4.	Holiday Meal is this Saturday! 
Leadership needs your help cooking, serving or 
cleaning.  Come any time Friday after school or 
Saturday (7a.m.- 6p.m.).  Earn service hours! 
Bring cans!!  BHS Food Court!

5.	Overwhelmed- Need to get your essay or 
story done before break?  Writer's café open is 
on Wednesdays and Thursdays at lunch in A101. 
Snacks served.  Coaches will work on getting you 
started, re-writing, or polishing your story for 
the Pulitzer Prize!  Open to all students.

6.	LOST- A shotgun microphone has been lost! 
If you found it, please return it to Mr. Halpern 
in C327. It has a pistol grip and a furry 
windscreen.  No questions asked.


Clubs
1.	Having sex?  Thinking about having sex? 
Come join condom club at lunch this Wednesday in 
room G103.  Come this one time and get a sticker 
for the back of your school ID.  Show this 
sticker at the Health Center and get 12 free 
condoms every week.  So bring your food and come 
learn about safer
sex.

2.	Final days to submit entries for the 
National Drunk and Drugged Driving Prevention 
Month poster and essay contest!  Turn in an 
original 8.5 x 11 poster and a 200 word or less 
essay on the topic of drunk and drugged driving 
prevention.  Entries need to be submitted to H105 
by 4:00 p.m. this Wednesday, December 7.  Enter 
to win cool prizes and have your poster included 
in a 2006 calendar.

3.	Come to the World Can't Wait Activist 
Club Thursdays at lunch in room C134.

4.	Achtung! Achtung!  Come join the German 
Film Club.  We'll show "Goodbye, Lenin" in German 
with English subtitles.  Come to C115 from 11:30 
-12:10p.m.  and bring your lunch!

Sports
1.	Congratulations to Women's Varsity Four 
boat from the crew team which placed first by 
more than a minute in the River City Junior Fall 
Regatta this last weekend.  The boat was composed 
of Rowers Rosa Cox, Samantha Schleis, Michaela 
Glaeser and Emma Cox and Coxswain Phoebe Kasdin.
Go Jackets!

2.	All cross country runners interested in 
continuing training during winter season, and 
preparing for spring track season: Come to an 
informational meeting today at lunch in Coach 
Goodrich's classroom: G105.

3.	All girls interested in trying out for 
lacrosse must come to an informational meeting on 
Thursday, December 8 at lunch on the bleachers.


Senior / Junior Section
1.	College visits:  Friday, December 9th    12:20 pm  Hawaii Pacific

2.	Job Opportunity- State Farm insurance on 
Solano Avenue is looking for a student to work 
approximately 8 hours per week.  Schedule is 
flexible- after school and Saturday hours are 
available.  They are looking for a minimum one 
year commitment.  Salary: $10-13 depending on 
experience.  For

3.	Scholarships-Italian Catholic Federation 
Scholarship- seniors who are Catholic and of 
Italian descent and who have a minimum GPA of at 
least 3.2 are eligible.  Applications available 
in D221.  $400 scholarship.  Deadline: March 15, 
2006.


Events/ Performance
1.	Come see the orchestra and band on their 
annual winter concert Thursday, December 8th at 
7:30p.m. in the Community Theater.  Hear pieces 
by Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky.  Be there!!!

2.	Everyone is invited to enjoy the holiday 
sounds of the Berkeley High Jazz Lab Band I and 
II under the direction of Charles Hamilton on 
Friday, December 16th, 7:30p.m. at the Florence 
Schwimley Little Theatre (entrance on Allston 
Way).  Doors open at 7p.m.  Delicious food and 
refreshments
will be available.  Donation is $10.00 for 
adults, free for students and BHS staff.  Come 
support and enjoy the Berkeley High Jazz program!


SALES
1.	Winterball tickets will go on sale 
Monday, 12/10/05 at the Allston Way box office 
after school all week.  Tickets are $50.00. 
Students must have ID and a students activities 
contract on file.

2.	Yearbooks are on sale in H102 everyday at 
lunch and after school.  They are $65 dollars 
until December 16, 2005.  Make checks payable to 
BHS yearbooks.
