Administration

1.	QUIT SMOKING FOR A DAY!  Wednesday, November 30th is Teens Kick Ash 
Day.  Smokers:  If you are interested in quitting, stop by the booth in 
the park during lunch to get hypnotized and/ or pick up a quit kit. 
Hypnosis can help break the addiction of smoking!  Parent/ guardian 
permission is required to be hypnotized; permission slips are posted on 
the door of G202. Bring signed permission forms to the park on 
Wednesday.

2.	Friends of smokers: Adopt your smoking friend and help them stay 
smoke-free for the day.  Prizes for all participants!  Contact Tricia 
Brazil @ 644-8987 for more information.

Clubs

1.	Don’t forget to join us on WORLD AIDS DAY at the Community Theater 
on December 1st.  Come part in the world wide HIV awareness and tour 
the AIDS memorial quilt and the BHS student quilt, participate in all 
the interactive and hands on activities.  But most importantly come 
learn and understand this epidemic.  STOP AIDS. Keep the promise.

2.	All clubs interested in participating on Club Day should sign up in 
room D148.  Club Day will be on Friday, December 2nd on the campus 
green tables will be provided.

3.	Time is running out to participate in the National Drunk and Drugged 
Driving Month Prevention Poster/Essay Contest!  It’s easy: Create an 
original 8.5 x 11 poster and write a 200 word or less essay on drunk 
and drugged driving prevention.  Turn in your entries to H105, (the 
Health Center) by Wednesday, December 7th at 4:00 p.m. for your chance 
to win some cool prizes.

Sports
1.  FALL ATHLETES:  f you haven't done so, turn in your uniforms this 
week!

1. The Berkeley Rhino Rugby Club is seeking new high school-aged 
players (boys ages 14-18)  for the winter 2005/spring 2006 Season.  
Practices are 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursday at San Pablo Park in 
Berkeley starting November 29.  No experience required.  All sizes 
welcome.  Call the  Hotline for more info at 510 466-5113.

Senior / Junior Section

1. Seniors : Your order days are as follows for Jostens:
Tuesday, November 29th (N-S)
Wednesday, November 30th (T-Z)

Lunchtime ONLY.  Pick up package information in the Admin office, 
Counseling office, or in D148.

2.	Seniors:  Its BLOOD DRIVE time.  Come to D148 to sign up to donate 
blood at this years-Red Cross Blood Drive in the Jacket Gym.  All 
donors must
be at least 17 years old.  The BLOOD DRIVE will be held on Monday, 
December 5th.

3.	Experience the world through a Youth for Understanding international 
exchange opportunity.  Travel and study abroad for a year, a semester, 
or
summer in one of the 35 countries!  Gain the global skills, knowledge, 
and insights that will prepare you to succeed in this multicultural and
interconnected world.  Many full scholarships are available.  A 
representative will be visiting BHS on Tuesday, November 29th at 8:30 
am in D221.

4.	Volunteer/Internship opportunity: Listen for Life is a global 
non-profit music-media production headquarters located-less than one 
block away from Berkeley High!  We are looking for responsible, 
reliable volunteers and / or interns who- would like to 
contribute-their time and individual gifts/ personalities on a regular 
basis.  Please call 540-8136 if you are interested.

5.	Scholarship: Ronald McDonald House Charities Scholarship.  Open to 
all seniors who are planning to attend two or four year college or 
university. Minimum scholarship of $1,000 will awarded by each local 
chapter. Applications available in D221.  Deadline: January 17.

Events/ Performance
1.	Young people ages 15-24 make up half of all new HIV infections 
worldwide.  More than 6000 become infected everyday. The HIV Prevention
Program will be sponsoring a school-wide event on Thursday, December 
1st for World AIDS Day.  Stop by the Community Theater 8:00 a.m. to 
4:00 p.m.  There will
be displays, hands-on learning activities, a tour of AIDS memorial 
quilt panels, as well as panels made to BHS students.  Come by, STOP 
AIDS, and keep the promise.

2.	Extra  *Dance Projects 2005* DVDS are available for purchase.  
Please see Mrs. Carr for details.

3.	Class of 2008!  Mrs. McKnight-Johnson needs your help.  We need 
input on Winter Ball locations.  There are two choices for January 
28th: 1.) San Francisco Bay Cruise or  2.) Hs. Lordships Restaurant.  
Both locations cost $50  See Ms. McKnight-Johnson ASAP!


SALES
1.  BART Tickets orders will be taken on Tuesday, 11/29 and Wednesday, 
11/30.  Ticket prices are $16.00 each.  Orders will be at lunchtime 
only at the box office ticket window.

2.	BHS Wearable will be sold Fridays from 3:15-3:45pm at the Athletic 
Directors office, by Donahue Gym.  PJ bottoms, hoodie sweatshirts,
