[BHS etree] ETREE: International High School - More Information & Forum

Etree note:  below is a message from Marilyn Boucher, School Site
Council member:

A copy of the proposal for an International High School (IHS) at BHS
is posted on the PTSA website (http://www.bhs.berkeleypta.org/). A
link to the PTSA website can be found at the bottom of this and every
etree posting. 

Although the proposal doesn't actually state this, per the
presentation of the principal to School Site Council and Shared
Governance Committee, if International High School is approved, all
students not in small schools will be in either Academic Choice or
IHS. IHS would essentially replace "large school" in the lottery.
 
The current copy of the BHS newletter, not yet posted to the PTSA
wesite, but delivered by mail to all homes, has an article on the IHS
proposal. 
 
Informational forum on the IHS proposal:
  Who:   Principal Jim Slemp and Vice-Principal Rory Bled
  When:  Monday, November 7 
  Time:  7:00 pm 
  Where: College and Career Counciling Center 
  (second floor, administration building). 

Be sure to come, and let your friends with children in middle school
know about it as well.
