On Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, November 1 and 2, the school
is holding the California Exit Exam for seniors only. Vice Principal
Rory Bled who is administering the exam needs several volunteers each
morning from 7:15 to 8:15 a.m. to help check the students in and then
again for an hour at 2 p.m. to sort material. In addition, if anyone
can stay past the check in time to help monitor, Ms Bled would be
appreciative. If you can help, please let Janet Huseby know at

This year, for the first time, students who do not pass the exit exam
will not receive a high school diploma. Students take the test for
the first time as sophomores. This year the entire sophomores class
will be tested in February. The exam is then offered twice during the
year to juniors and three times to seniors. This is the second time
the exit exam is being offered to seniors this year. It will be
offered once again in the spring. In addition to seniors who are
retaking the test, there are seniors who are exchange students, from
out of state and from private school who are taking the test.
Everyone must pass the test in order to graduate.
The stakes are high for this exam and it is important that we make it
a calm and orderly experience. Please consider helping.
