Become a Mentor for Student Writers at Berkeley High!

Have you been thinking about becoming a writing coach?

It’s not too late!  Register today for one of two WriterCoach
Connection (WCC) training sessions starting this week and be ready
when coaching begins in mid-October. 

WCC seeks diverse members of the community to work with BHS student
writers.  You don’t have to be a professional writer or teacher to
help kids gain confidence, improve skills and complete assignments. 

With training and support from WriterCoach Connection you can enjoy
the satisfaction of being an academic mentor, use strategies learned
to help your own child, gain insight into the Berkeley High
experience, and connect with a wonderful group of caring volunteers.

WCC coaches work one-on-one with students in English/history classes
to help them master writing and critical thinking skills. Coaches
commit to a regular, 1 to 2-hour period each week. Last year 95 WCC
volunteers helped over 1400 BHS students in their classes and at the
lunchtime Writers’ Café.

To become a coach, register now for one of our trainings and learn
step-by-step methods to help students. 

Session 5:	Tuesdays	10/4 & 10/11	12:00-3:00 PM 
Session 6:	Thursdays	10/6 & 10/13	6:30-9:30 PM 
Session 7:	Mondays	10/17 & 10/24	6:30-9:30 PM
