I want to bring to the attention of parents of sophomores and juniors
an item in the BHS college bulletin regarding the PSAT (Preliminary
Scholastic Assessment Test).

The test is offered at BHS on October 15 this year.  It is
recommended for sophomores (as a practice test) and for juniors.
Results from this test are used to identify junior students eligible
for National Merit Scholarships.  It is also excellent practice for
the real thing (the SAT) and the score results provide a detailed
analysis of your student's strengths and weaknesses.

PSAT SIGN UP INFORMATION - sign-up for the PSAT  September 21 through
September 30 during lunch and after school until 4:00 p.m. at the D
building ticket window on Allston Way. The cost of the test is $22,
cash or money order only. Money orders should be made payable to
Berkeley High.
