[BHS etree] ADMIN: Help for EXIT EXAM Tuesday and schedule changes

On Tuesday, September 13 Berkeley High will be offering a makeup Exit Exam
for 11th and 12th graders. Rory Bled the Assistant Principal in charge of
administering the exam would be very grateful if at least four volunteers
could come in from 7:15 to 8:30 a.m. to check in students.  If you can help,
please come to the Jacket gym.  Normally, I would ask you to reply to this
request as a confirmation, but as I will be out of touch over the next four
days, please just come in. The exit exam is important and starting it off
with a smooth check in makes a huge difference. There will not be too many
volunteers.

The exit exam is first offered to 10th graders in the spring.  While the
official results from this spring's exam (taken by current 11th graders)
have not yet been distributed, if you have not heard from the school, you
may assume your child has passed.  All students, starting with the class of
2006, are required to pass the exam in order to receive a California state
high school diploma.

Meanwhile, we are still running schedule changes, collecting 2nd period
attendance sheets, and distributing lockers in room H104.  If you can help
on Friday, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday please come to the front office. If
you can help at lunchtime, please go to H104 after signing in and putting on
a volunteer badge.  For schedule running, sign in, put on your volunteer
badge, head back to the counseling office. (There is nothing more satisfying
than handing a student their schedule change or a locker.)

Over and over again over the past three weeks, I have heard from
administrators, counselors, and teachers how wonderful our volunteers are
and what a difference they are making.  I say, I know, they (you) are the
best. Thank you one and all!
