BUSD Board of Education Joined by New Student Director for the
2005-06
School Year

Teal Miller, a senior at Berkeley High School, was sworn in as the
Student Director on the Board of Education for the 2005-06 school
year by Board President Nancy Riddle.

In her board comments, Teal told the Board and the community, "I want
to keep students informed about what is happening here at the Board
level, and and I intend to be the voice of the students, bringing
their concerns to the Board."

All of the Board members welcomed her and emphasized the value and
importance of the student perspective in Board decisions. As Student
Director, Teal will also be responsible for running the Student
Senate and Student Council at Berkeley High.
