Below is some information on the BART tickets available through
Berkeley High:
WHAT KIND OF BART TICKETS ARE BEING SOLD AT BHS?
Orange $32-value half-price tickets for the use of students, aged
13-18. BART's website says "This ticket may be used only for trips
to and from school or school-sponsored events, Monday through Friday
only."
WHAT DO THEY COST?
$16 CASH only
CAN I BUY THESE TICKETS ELSEWHERE?
BART makes available these tickets to participating schools only.
They are special order tickets--you cannot buy them elsewhere.
WHEN CAN WE ORDER TICKETS?
Ticket orders are typically taken during lunchtime on the last two
school-days of each month (not necessarily Thursdays and Fridays). No
orders will be taken after 12:15pm on the second day. Watch/listen
for an announcement in the Student Daily Bulletin.
WHERE DO WE ORDER TICKETS?
Room D224, in the new main administration building, next to the
library. This is the Parent Resource Center, run by Ms. Parker.
WHEN & WHERE CAN WE PICK UP OUR TICKETS?
About a week after ordering you will be able pick up your tickets in
room D224, but wait until reading/hearing an announcement in the
Daily Bulletin. Tickets will be available at lunchtime or after
school--BUT ONLY until 3:30pm.
WHY MUST THEY BE PRE-PAID?
Because these are special tickets, BART does not make them available
to the schools without cash payment in advance. BART prints the
exact number of tickets that are ordered--they cannot send the school
a batch of tickets to sell on the spot unless they are paid for in
advance.
