We have received many questions about PE requirements, here is the story:
The State of California requires 20 units (four semesters) of PE for high
school graduation.  A student may earn credits three ways: by enrolling in a
BHS PE class, by taking a BHS dance class , or by participating on a BHS
athletic team. Some students who participate on an outside athletic team
such as any state or nationally competitive team, or a professional dance
troupe, such as SF Ballet, MAY be able to obtain a PE waiver by submitting a
written request. Freshmen are not required to take a PE course their first
year. They have four years to fulfill the PE requirement.
