YOU Can Make a Difference!!

Enjoy the satisfaction of being an academic mentor by becoming a
writing coach. WriterCoach Connection encourages adults of all ages,
backgrounds and ethnicities to become volunteers.

WriterCoach Connection is currently recruiting diverse members of the
community, parents, senior citizens and college students to become
writing coaches for the current academic year. You do not need to be
a writer or educator; WCC trains you to be a coach. All you do is:

* Complete two 3-hour trainings plus classroom observation and
mentoring by experienced coaches;
* Register with Berkeley School Volunteers (1.5-hour orientation);
and,
* Commit to a two-hour per week coaching session on a Wednesday or
Thursday during school hours. WCC site coordinators provide ongoing
support for coaches.

To volunteer contact Dorothy Vriend: dvriend at sbcglobal.net with your
name, email address, phone number and training session you'd like to
attend and any questions you might have OR visit our website at
www.writercoachconnection.org and go to "Volunteer".
