STUDENT DAILY BULLETIN
June 3, 2005   Administration

1.	Student Body Elections will take place in your third period classes 
on Monday (June 6) through Thursday (June 9)--so be in class and vote 
for next year’s student body government officers.  Represent your voice 
and vote!

2.	Don’t forget!  Get a good night sleep and a good meal on Friday 
morning in order to be ready for the Blood Drive.  Sign up today or 
drop in on Friday at the Community Theater

3.	Calling all BHS students: If you are interested in law and would 
like experience in this field, or if you would like to have a positive 
and lasting influence on the BHS community then “Student Court” is the 
class for you.  Next year, students will be able to make an impact on 
the discipline system and cut down on suspensions.  It will be a 7th 
period class.  Everyone that participates will receive leadership class 
credit.  Applications can be picked up at H201.  We are hoping to have 
a class that is representative of our school, and all are encouraged to 
apply.

4.	LOST- a lapt op in a gray case went missing on May 31st at Berkeley 
High.  If found please bring to Mrs. Parker in D148, or call 
510-409-4389.  Reward is available.

5.	LOST- Did anyone find a Teacher’s Curriculum handbook on the Middle 
East?  A red book.  Please contact Myron Berkman in C107.

Clubs
1.	There will be a final Club Commissioner’s meeting this Thursday.  
All club representatives must attend.  We will be discussing next 
year’s club status.

2.	Earphone English Club- Please come by C116 at lunch on Friday and 
return any and all audio books that you have borrowed.  Francisca will 
be there to check in and bring the books back to the library.  See you 
Friday.

3.	Having sex?  Thinking about having sex?  Come to the last Condom 
Club of the year.  It’s at lunch Monday, in A205 in the Community 
Theater building.  One meeting gets you a sticker on your ID and 12 
free condoms per week.  Stop in at the Health Center if you have any 
questions.

Sports

Senior / Junior Section

1.	Josten’s will be here for the last time this Friday to deliver cap 
and gown’s at lunch in the community theatre.  If you don’t pick up 
Friday your cap and gown will not be available until rehearsal on 6/17.
2.	Juniors- Find out about the incentive awards program at UC Berkeley- 
This is a great leadership and mentorship program with a $30,000 
scholarship to Cal.  A Berkeley High Grad who is part of this program 
will be here on Thursday, June 2 at 10:35 in the College/ Career Center 
to explain the program and answer your questions about UC Berkeley.

3.	Juniors- If you are considering applying to a private college, pick 
up the Senior Profile in the College/Career Center so that you can 
complete it over the summer.  The information you provide will be used 
by your counselor to write your recommendation.

4.	Juniors- The Junior Summer To Do list is now available in the 
College/ Career Center.  Pick up your copy so that you can get some of 
your college preparation done over the summer, which will make your 
senior year much easier.

5.	Seniors- Vista College has a new major- the Global Studies Program.  
Get an AA degree that prepares you to transfer to many UC and CSU 
programs;  For more information contact Joan Berezin at 981-2884 or

6.	Graduation Tickets will be on sale in the Student Body Accountants 
office (D143).  Seniors- In order to purchase Graduation tickets you 
must have your ID, and all book and or equipment debts cleared.

Events/ Performance

1.	  The 6th Annual Berkeley High School Film Festival will take place 
at the Little Theater on June 6th:  6:00 - 7:00 pm Refreshments/ Ticket 
and Raffle sales;  7:00 pm Show and Raffle.  The festival will feature 
documentary, fiction, and experimental works from students at BHS and 
throughout the Berkeley Unified School District.

Sales

1.	Today on the Senior Steps, seniors can pick up their yearbooks.  You 
must have your receipt and your Berkeley High ID.  If you lost your 
receipt, you can buy a duplicate for $5.  No underclassmen will be 
allowed to pick up their yearbooks until tomorrow!

2.	This is your last chance to help the Tsunami Relief effort.  We will 
be having one last bake sale as part of Youth Together’s Unity week. 
Come today at lunch, we’ll be in the courtyard with lots of goodies.
