STUDENT DAILY BULLETIN

Administration
1. We will begin distributing yearbooks, TODAY, June 1st! Distribution
will take place during lunch and after school until 4:00 p.m. the 1st
through the 3rd. NO NEW SALES WILL TAKE PLACE THE FIRST THREE DAYS
DURING DISTRIBUTION. Beginning Monday June 6th, distribution will
continue and you may also purchase yearbooks at that time (after
school).
Clubs
1. Participants of Black Graduation: The date has been changed to June
5th! If you have not picked up a permission slip, please do. Also, if
you want a t-shirt and you want your name on it, please sign up in
H214.
2. There will be a final Club Commissioner’s meeting this Thursday.
All club representatives must attend. We will be discussing next
year’s club status.
Sports
1. Track and Field Pot-Luck Banquet on Thursday, June 2 from 6-8 pm at
the BHS food court. Athletes and their families are invited to attend.
Please bring a side dish or desert and drinks to share. Pizza and
chicken will be provided.
2. Attention all BHS Swimming and diving team members: Our awards
dinner will be held on Wednesday evening at the Berkeley High School
Food court between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 pm. Please contact Lauren
Sonderegger or Coach Gaebler as to what you are responsible for
bringing. See you there!
Senior / Junior Section
1. Juniors: Find out about the incentive awards program at UC Berkeley-
This is a great leadership and mentorship program with a $30,000
scholarship to Cal. A Berkeley High Grad who is part of this program
will be here on Thursday, June 2 at 10:35 am in the College/ Career
Center to explain the program and answer your questions about UC
Berkeley.
2. Juniors: If you are considering applying to a private college, pick
up the Senior Profile in the College/Career Center so that you can
complete it over the summer. The information you provide will be used
by your counselor to write your recommendation.
3. Juniors- The Junior Summer To Do list is now available in the
College/ Career Center. Pick up your copy so that you can get some of
your college preparation done over the summer, which will make your
senior year much easier.
4. Seniors- Vista College has a new major- the Global Studies Program.
Get an AA degree that prepares you to transfer to many UC and CSU
programs; For more information contact Joan Berezin at 981-2884 or
email <jberezin at peralta.edu>.
5. IF YOU CHECKED OUT A PROM CD- PLEASE RETURN IT TODAY. WE ONLY HAVE
A FEW AVAILABLE. IF YOU LOST THE CD WE WILL HAVE TO CHARGE A FEE.
6. Graduation tickets will be on sale in the Student Body Accountant's
office (D143). Seniors: In order to purchase graduation tickets you
must have your ID, and all book and or equipment debts cleared.
Events/ Performance
1. 6th Annual Berkeley High School Film Festival will take place at
the Little Theater. 6-7 pm Refreshments/ ticket and raffle sales. 7pm
Show and Raffle. The festival will feature documentary, fiction, and
experimental works from students at BHS and throughout the Berkeley
Unified School District.
Sales
1. All lost and found items will be on display at lunchtime June 2-3.
Items not retrieved will be donated to MASC (Shelter on Center Street
in Berkeley). Please check for all lost items.
2. This is your last chance to help the tsunami relief effort. We will
be having one last bake sale as part of Youth Together’s Unity week.
Come by Friday at lunch, we’ll be in the courtyard with lots of
goodies.
