STUDENT DAILY BULLETIN

Administration

1.	The Berkeley High School Site Council will meet MONDAY, May 23, 2005  
from 4:30 to 6:00 pm, in the school library.  On the agenda are fees  
from student clubs for school accountant; the Tenth Grade Counseling  
program; and the new site plan.  All representatives and alternates  
should attend, and anyone interested is welcome.  Contact

2.	On Wednesday, May 25th: In order to accommodate the large number of  
teachers, students, parents, and classified employees who plan to  
attend the Coalition Rally for Education in Sacramento.  There will be  
a ONE DAY schedule:
Period 1         8:30 - 9:15
Period 2         9:21 - 10:11
Period 3        10:17 - 11:02
Period 4        11:08 - 11:53
LUNCH        11:53 - 12:33
Period 5        12:39 - 1:24
Period 6          1:30 - 2:15

3.	BART tickets are here!  Please pick up your tickets.  Next Bart  
ticket orders will be taken May 31.  This is the last BART order for  
the year.

Clubs
1.	Participants of Black Graduation!  The date has been changed to June  
5th!  If you have not picked up a permission slip, please do.  Also, if  
you want a t-shirt --and you want your name on it-- please sign up in  
H214.

2.	All Key Clubbers:  Today’s meeting will be at lunch in Ms. Z’s room,  
C220.

Sports
1.	Three BHS divers competed in the North Coast Diving Championships on  
Friday at Diablo Valley College.  Austin Kovacs finished 19th;  Paul  
Navo finished 27th place out of 34 for the boys;Ryan Race finished 26th  
out of 32 for the girls.  Congratulations to the BHS divers.

2.	Football meeting on Monday, May 23rd at 3:30 pm in G210.  All are  
welcome and encourage to attend.

3.	Spring football practice is upon us.  We finally get to throw the  
football around and run football plays.  All BHS students are welcome  
and encouraged to attend.  You will need a current physical and parent  
consent form.  I hope to see all of you there on the football field  
Tuesday, May 24th at 3:30 pm.  Go Jackets.

Senior / Junior Section
1.	Seniors- Turn in a Transcript Request Form to Ms. Mellion in D173 so  
that we can send an official transcript to the school you will be  
attending in the fall.  This is required for all four year colleges.  
Write in capital letters across the top “Final TRANSCRIPT” and  
paperclip it to a stamped business size envelope addressed to the  
college.  Use Berkeley High School as the return address, not your home  
address.  If you are under 18, please remember to have your parent or  
guardian sign the request form.

2.	Juniors- the new UC eligibility index is now available.  You can  
find it at
<www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergrad_adm/freshman/ 
scholarship_reqs.html>.

3.	Are you 17?  Wanna save a life or even 3?  Well, come donate blood  
on June 3.  Sign ups are in the courtyard on May 24-26,  
Tuesday-Thursday at lunch.

Events/ Performance
1.	The BHS FILM FESTIVAL is moved to Tuesday, June 7.  THe sixth annual  
Berkeley High School Film Festival will take place at the Little  
Theater:   6:00 - 7:00 pm:  Refreshments/ ticket and raffle sales;   
7:00 pm:  Show and Raffle.  The festival will feature documentary,  
fiction, and experimental works from students at BHS and throughout the  
Berkeley Unified School District.

2.	The Noodle Factory presents “Live and Direct, Youth Voice in  
Effect”, a showcase of the hottest young talent in the Bay Area  
speaking on youth incarceration featuring artists from Youth Movement  
Records, Outta Pocket Boyz, Youth Speaks, the Mamaz and Aya de Leon.   
Come enjoy a night of live music, good food, a DJ and an open mic this  
Saturday.  For more information pick up a flyer in G108B.

Sales
1.	Yearbooks are $70 now!  Get them in H102 at lunch on Tuesday and  
Thursdays or during Zero period Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

2.  BHS Tsunami Relief group is having another bake sale at lunch on  
Thursday,  May 26th.
