[BHS etree] MISC: BHS juniors -Alicia and Cilau - win county video contest

Berkeley High School juniors Alicia Otis-Levins and Rafael Cilau Valadez,
from the Communication Arts and Sciences small school, won the Alameda
County Office of Education anti-tobacco psa video contest.  Over 50 people
judged the videos and many high schools participated in the contest.  They
won $250 plus a TV spot.  Their video documents the experience of
fieldworkers in Mexico and is particularly personal to Cilau who lost his
grandfather to pesticide poisoning in the tobacco fields.


The awards ceremony is Monday, May 16 at 4:30pm.  Please come to the event
to support their achievement and see their video.  For more details,

Alameda County Office  of
Education, 313 W. Winton Ave. in the Board Room. If you have any questions
