Administration

1.	Students who wish to perform at the Graduation ceremony must sign up 
with Ruby Taylor in the admin office.  Auditions will take place on May 
11th.

2.	Summer School applications are in the Counseling reception area ( 
D141). Deadline is May 20 so please sign up early to reserve a space.

3.	Work Experience today at the end of lunch in C317.

4.	Attention all CSF participants: Tutoring is due this Wednesday, May 
11th.

5.	Want a $20 movie gift certificate?  The Student Research Team needs 
interview participants.  Come answer questions about sleep and get a 
$20 gift card.  Sign up at the Health Center by Thursday, May 12th.

6.	Free Summer Flight Academy sponsored by the SFBAC of Tuskegee Airmen 
for students ages 14 to 18.  You will receive 40 hours of ground school 
and up to 10 hours of actual flying time.  Applications available in 
the College/ Career center.  For more information, call 510-236-6250. 
Deadline: May 31.

7.	Attention all CSF members, the tutoring for Spring semester is due, 
Wednesday, May 11th.  Do your tutoring now!

8.	City of Oakland  is hiring part-time sports official to officiate 
evenings and weekends at city sports and athletic events.  Applicants 
must be at least 16 years old and have a valid driver’s license.  
Please call 238-3112. Salary $16.06 an hour.

Clubs
1.  If you are interested in debate and public speaking show up on 
Thursday, May 12 in G215 for pizza and drinks.  Information will be 
handed out regarding receiving college credit for participation and the 
possible scholarships available.

Sports
1.	Football in the spring?  Spring football practice starts Tuesday, 
May 24th at 3:30 pm on the football field. Only BHS students and 
Berkeley Alternative students may participate.  Please obtain physical 
consent forms from Matt Bissell.

Senior / Junior Section
1.	The Senior Trip is cancelled. Refunds for the Senior Trip can be 
picked up from the Community Theatre Box Office at lunch Tuesdays and 
Thursdays.  Please have your receipt and ID.

2.	Seniors: This is your chance to be recognized!  The Senior Awards 
Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 24 at 7:00 pm in the Community 
Theater.  Pick up the Senior Awards ceremony form in the College/Career 
Center and let us know about scholarships, awards and honors you have 
won.  Deadline is  Wednesday, May 11, so you can be listed in the 
program.

3.	Sophomores and Juniors:  Practice SAT test at Berkeley High School 
on Saturday, May 21,  9:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm.  Cost $15.  Fee waivers 
available.  Sign up in the College Career Center no later than May 
18th.

Events/ Performance
1.	Uplifting Graceful Energy-Dance: May 12th at 7:30 pm at the Berkeley 
Community Theater.  Tickets are $7.00 for students, $10.00 reserved, 
and $3.00 children under 13 and senior citizens.

2.	Come hear the future of jazz!  The internationally acclaimed BHS 
Jazz Ensemble and Combos take the stage at Yoshi’s for two shows on 
Wednesday, May 11th.  Appearing with them will be Mic Gillette, the 
dynamic trumpeter and trombonist with Tower of Power.  Tickets for t5he 
two shows, at 8 pm and 10 pm are $10 and can be purchased from Yoshi’s 
in Jack London Square, 510 Embarcadero West, 238-9200 or by calling 
Christina Aceves, 525-3282.

Sales
1.	Senior Ball tickets are $75—get them while they last!

2.	Yearbooks are $70 now!  Get them in H102 at lunch on Tuesday and 
Thursdays. Zero period  Monday, Wednesday , and Friday.
