[BHS etree] PTA: Kick Off Rally and Press Conference for "Caravan for Kids"

Come to the Kick Off Rally and Press Conference for "Caravan for Kids" this
Wednesday, April 27, 2:45-3:30, in front of the BUSD (Old City Hall), 2134
MLK Jr. Way. Those of you who aren't going to Sacramento are especially
encouraged to come to the press conference (bring your children!) and become
part of this historic effort. Let your voice be heard and show your support
for restoring funding for our schools!

Bring children, signs, balloons, and enthusiasm. We want to make the evening
news and the morning newspapers to help get the word out about the Carvan!



The cameras will be rolling as we announce our plans for the Caravan and
unveil the State PTA "Agenda" for our legislators to endorse. We're asking
the governor to keep his promise to fund our schools and the legislature to
gradually increase spending per pupil, to place California among the top 10
states in per pupil spending instead of 44th.

The Caravan for Kids is the largest mobilization of parents and students in
the history of California.

The California State PTA has over a million members and is part of the
National PTA, the largest child advocacy group in the United States.
