Integrating City, School, & Community Student Support Services
PROF. HOWARD ADELMAN AND LINDA TAYLOR University of California, Los Angeles
TUESDAY, MARCH 15 at 7:00 pm in the Berkeley High Library, corner of
Addison and Milvia Streets in Berkeley.
Our speakers are nationally known for their work addressing barriers to
learning as well as integrating city and school district approaches to
mental health. They will be working with Berkeley officials including
Mayor Tom Bates and Schools Superintendent Michele Lawrence to further the
integrated services model in Berkeley. Howard Adelman and Linda Taylor are
co-directors of the School Mental Health Project and its
federally-supported National Center for Mental Health in Schools at UCLA.
They note that "Schools are not in the mental health business. All our
work approaches mental health and psychosocial concerns in ways that
integrally connect such efforts with school reform and improvement." .
