CURRICULUM NIGHT on March 17, 7 p.m. This is an opportunity for current
9-11th grade families to discuss with the counselors and department heads
questions on math sequencing, science levels, Advanced Placement courses,
college requirements, etc. If your kid is not sure what classes to sign up
for next year, this night is not to be missed.
Unlike incoming 9th graders, students who are enrolling for 10-12th grade do
not have a special night set aside for course selection. After completing
enrollment in the BUSD and BHS they should request an appointment to meet
with their counselor as soon as possible. Currently Belinda McDaniel, who
is also in charge of enrollment, is taking the appointments. Enrollment
begins the week of March 15. Current 9th 11 grade students at BHS will be
asked to turn in a preliminary schedule request at the end of March. New
students will not do this. However, that does not mean that new students
will not have the same odds as current students to receive their course
choices. This first round of scheduling is a preliminary round designed to
help the school figure out how many sections of courses will be needed. The
final round of scheduling will be conducted in the last spring or early
summer.
