Administration

1. The Berkeley High School Site Council will meet on Tuesday, December 14,
2004 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the school library.  On the agenda are
athletic eligibility requirements(continuation from last meeting), report of
the Positive Minds program, and data on student achievement.  All
representatives and alternates should attend, and anyone interested is

2. Earphone English Club: come turn in your field trip form and get all the
details Friday at lunch in C116.


Clubs
1. If you want to perform at the Lenea Drama Festival you must come to
Friday meetings in the Drama Room.  Don't miss your chance!  Lunchtime each
Friday in A203.

2. Juniors and Sophomores: presentation by United World Colleges on Friday,
December 10, 10:35 a.m. in the College Center.  The United World Colleges is
an educational movement offering a two year International Baccalaureate
program.  It brings together students, ages 16 -19, from all over the world
at pre-university level study together under the belief that if students
live and learn together they will return home and their understanding of
foreign cultures will foster international understanding, tolerance, and
peace.  Successful applicants receive a full scholarship for the two year
program and many go on to attend some of the best universities in the world.

3. CAS Presents: Berkeley High Poetry Slam on Wednesday, December 15th.
Slam begins at 7:00 p.m. in G210.  $1 donation at the door will cover.  Sign
up to read, 6:30 pm.  Have two poems ready in case you make round 2.

4. Quiz bowl meeting in C316.  Please come to a meeting.  A great deal of
fun.  Meeting will be this Friday, December 10th.


5. Are you interested in making your own needles?  Come to the Knitting and
Needlework club on Tuesday, December 14th.  Note:  This is a Tuesday, not
our usual Monday meeting day.  See you then!


Sports
1. Football Players must clear their gym lockers and turn in equipment by
Monday, December 13th at 3:30 pm.  Turn in equipment to Mr. White.  If you
don't clear your locker by Monday, your lock will be cut and the equipment
will be collected.

Senior Section 
1. Senior reminder!  Please pick up your early graduation petition forms
from the Registrar's office or the Counseling Center.   Make sure they are
completely filled out by the counselor and your parent.  They are due back
at the Registrar's office by TODAY - December 10th.
  
2.    College Visits:
Friday, December 10 8:30 am
Prescott College (AZ) This is an excellent school if you are looking for an
alternative college and love the outdoors.



Events/ Performance
1. The BHS Choir is having their annual winter concert on Wednesday,
December 15 at 7:30 p.m.  Please join them in the Little Theater -- no
admission price--to hear holiday music and more!  Refreshments will be
available after the performance.


2. Attention BHS:  Annual Richard D. Navies Week starts December 13, Monday.
Dress up for 90s dress up and come to the courtyard for 90-s music.  Next
week there also will be the First Annual Historically Black College Day.
Don't miss out!  Listen for more details each day in the bulletin.


Sales
1. Yearbooks are on sale for $60.00.  Go to H102 before school or at lunch.

2. 2005 Calendar only $5.00:  The annual fundraising calendar sales, for the
CAS video program at BHS, continue this Saturday (Dec. 11) and SUNDAY (Dec
12) from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, RAIN OR SHINE!  We are selling beautiful 2005
wall, engagement and page a-day calendars for only $5.00 each.  These are
the same calendars that are currently selling in stores for $12.00 to
$18.00.  They make GREAT GIFTS.  We have art, travel, children’s, sports,
animal, spiritual, etc.  WHERE: 2310 Valley St. Berkeley.  This is 3 blocks
west of Sacramento St. off Chinning Way.  RAIN OR SHINE!  1:00 TO 3:00 only.
