Administration
 
NO SCHOOL THURSDAY, 11/25 AND FRIDAY, 11/26  -- THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY

1.    Freshmen get applications to be leadership officers from Mrs.
McKnight- Johnson in room C400.  Applications are due November 29th – turn
them in ASAP.

2.    The Berkeley Community Chorus and Orchestra (BCCO), a non profit
organization that provides free concerts for the community, needs four
students, capable of lifting 25 lbs., to help set up for the winter
concert series.  Involves lifting and moving risers, chairs, music stands
and lighting equipment.  The dates are Dec. 1, 4, 5, and 19.  Concerts
at St. Joseph the Worker Church.  Contact Mark Wolfe for more information-
644-6259.

3.    There is a mandatory Holiday Meal/ Canned Food Drive meeting on
Monday, November 29, at lunch in C400.  All student government and committee
members must attend.

Clubs
1.    Culture and Exchange Club meets in C116 on Wednesday at 3rd period for
the Annual Thanksgiving exchange and potluck. See Mr. Berkman in C107 for
details.

2.    Do you want a challenge?  Come to G217 at lunch on Tuesday
(November 30) for a short informational meeting to see how you can
participate in the Winston Solar Challenge with a real solar powered
racing car.  

3.    Are you interested in world events?  Do you care about energy and the
environment?   Do you want to win prizes and trophies?  Then come this
Wednesday to C105 at lunch for our first meeting of the World Affairs
Challenge.  This is not a commitment, just an informational meeting.  Again,
it's this Wednesday in
C105 at lunch.

4.    Please come today to the first meeting of the World Affairs Challenge.
Learn about world events and compete in a fun competition to get prizes
and trophies.  Today at lunch in C105.  Hope to see you there!

5.    Students come to BSU today at lunch in H214.  We have a lot of topics
to discuss so don't miss it.  All Richard Navies Week suggestions should be
I by next Wednesday.  COLLEGE TOUR PEOPLE: don't forget there's also a
mandatory fundraising opportunity so don't miss it!

Sports
1.    Attention Soccer fans!  The Boy's Soccer team play its second home
match of the season on Wednesday, November 24th.    Come out and support
the team as they take on Mira Monte High School.  Come see the *Clash of
the Titans* as the NCS 2A champion takes on the NCS 3A Champion.  Kick of
for the JV is 4:00 p.m. and Varsity is at 5:30 p.m.  Come support the
Yellowjackets!

Senior Section 
     
1.    Senior reminder!  Please pick up your early graduation petition forms.
(Registrar's office or the Counseling center).   Make sure they are
completely filled out, by the counselor and your parent.  They are due
back at the Registrar's office by December 10th.

                   
Events/ Performance
1.    Every year people around the world gather to remember the over 20
million people who have died of AIDS, and to learn to protect themselves.
Join us at the Community Theater November 30th and December 1st to observe
WORLD AIDS Day.  Memorial quilt as well as tables with activities and
information provided by your BHS Health Center, community organizations,
fellow students, Peer Educators and Youth Advisors.

Sales
1.    Make sure you buy a yearbook.  The price is still $60.  They will go
up soon.  Come to H102 before school (o period) or after school.

2.    Hey BHS students!  Do you ever feel that you don't have time to eat
breakfast before school?  Well come support the Building with Books
Breakfast sale on Wednesday (11/24/04) during zero period in front of the
Community theater.  Thank you very much.
