Administration

1.    The Berkeley High School Site Council will meet today, September 28
from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. in the library.  All new parent and teacher members
and alternates, last year's members, and students running for election this
year should attend, and anyone interested is welcomed.  The agenda will
include orientation for new members, formation of subcommittees, and by-law
change.  For further information, contact

2.    Work Experience: Juniors and Seniors - you must see Mrs. Horikoshi in
C317 if you plan to get Work Experience credit.

3.    The screening of "The House We Live In," scheduled for September 29,
2004 has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for a future date.  Look for
upcoming details.

4.    The BHS CANNED FOOD DRIVE kick off is Thursday, Sept. 30 at 7:00 PM at
Back to School Night.  Starting Friday, bring your canned foods and
non-perishables to your 2nd period class.  The 2nd period with the most cans
wins a pizza party on Homecoming Day, 10/22.  All proceeds benefit the BHS
Annual Holiday Meal on December 11th.

Sports
1.    Student basketballs are available at lunchtime for your use.  Please
come to the Parent Resource Center to check out a basketball at lunch.

Clubs
1.    Come to the first meeting of the Gay-Straight Alliance at lunch today
in H208.  Bring your lunch.  Drinks will be provided.

2.    Forensics Club meets every Thursday at lunch in G215.

3.    Do you often wonder what to do with all those pictures you have?
Well, Berkeley High's Scrapbook club will officially start Monday, October
4, 2004 from 4:00-5:00 .pm. In conference room B.  For more information see
Ms Cooks in D173.

4.    Attention Asian and Pacific Islander team leader members.  We'll be
meeting today at lunch in C327.

5.    This Wednesday at lunch, there is a Student Body Meeting (ASB) in C400
for all officers.  This meeting is to discuss Back to School Night and the
Holiday Meal.

6.    Hey BHS students:  Do you want to lend a helping hand to needy kids in
the third world country?  Come join the Building with Books club today at
lunch in G212.  You can make a difference in the world!

1.  Bart Ticket orders will be taken on September 29, 30, and October 4th
at lunchtime.  Cash only.  Ticket price is $16.00 for a $32.00 ticket.
