The need for volunteers to help BHS start the school year smoothly
continues THROUGH next week, starting Tuesday, September 7. (Monday is a
holiday!) If you can possible help, an hour or two will be greatly
appreciated and make a big difference.
1. Lockers! For a high energy, very exciting experience we need up to 10
parents at lunch (11:15-12:15) and after school (3:15-4:15) on Tuesday and
Wednesday (September 7 and 8) to help distribute lockers to eager students.
This activities will take place on the steps of the Community Theater--right
in the middle of the lunchtime crowd. A rare opportunity to enjoy the scene
and help the kids at the same time. If you can possible be there, please
email Janet Huseby at jhuseby at pacbell.net and let her know what days and
times you are available.
2. The counseling and attendance offices will need volunteers through the
end of the week to deliver schedule
change forms and to collect attendance information, especially in the
morning from 9 to 11:00 (but in the
afternoon as well). This is an excellent opportunity to visit dozens of
classes and see Berkeley High in action. If you can help--and have not
yet emailed Rory Bled know, please email Janet Huseby at jhuseby at pacbell.net
and let her know what days
3. The school photographer will be back in action taking Student IDs on
Wednesdays, September 8 and 15 in the morning from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m. and
during lunch from 11:30 to 12:15. Four parents are needed at each session
to sell the Student Organizers, laminate cards and assist the photographers.
If you can help, please email Student Activities Director Ivery
McKnight-Johnson at imcknight at berkeley.k12.ca.us. or Janet Huseby at
jhuseby at pacbell.net.net.
4. Passing out schedules rom 7:30 to 8:30 Tuesday morning. POSITIONS FILLED!
for the first time the day after Labor Day. If you said you were coming,
please come! See you then , Janet
