STUDENT DAILY BULLETIN
September 1, 2004

Administration
1. Today’s (September 1) Bell Schedule:
Period  01   8:30 – 9:25am
Period  02   9:31 – 10:31 am
Period  03  10:37 –11:32 am
Lunch         11:32 –12:12 pm
Period 04    12:18 –1:13 pm
Period 05      1:19 –2:14 pm
Period 06      2:20 -3:15 pm
Period 07      3:21 – 4:16 pm

2.  Any students who wish to take the math placement test must register
with Judy Bodenhausen by email.  Her email address is  
<jbodenhausen at berkeley.k12.ca.us.
The test will be given on September 8th at 3:30 p.m. in H109.

3.  TEACHERS- Please do not forget to send your NO SHOW papers to Ruby 
Taylor.

4.  Have a gap in your schedule or looking to help others out.  Come see
Mr. Bissell in G211 to become a proctor or Teacher’s Assistant.  Looking
for help during all periods.

5.  There will be a grade level assembly on Friday, September 3, 2004 in
the community theatre.  Teachers should have their students report at 
the
times listed below.
Sophomores – 9:05 am
Juniors – 10:10 am
Seniors – 11:10 am
Freshmen – 1:55 pm


Clubs
1.  Have you ever been told, “You have a great voice?  You should be an
announcer!”  Now you can.  If you would like to learn to be an announcer
at BHS athletic events, please sign up with Billy Keys or Kristen 
Glenchur
in the Athletic Office located next to the Donahue Gym.

Sports
1.	If you want to try out for a Fall athletic team (football, girls
volleyball, girls tennis, girls golf, girls field hockey, girls/boys 
water
polo, girls/boys cross country) you must check in with the coach before
the end of the week.  Teams have been working out since August 23.  If 
you
want to find out where to meet them, come to the new Athletic office 
next
to the Donahue Gym today.  You must have a complete athletic packet,
including physical and parent consent, in order to try out.

2.	Any student interested in playing baseball for Berkeley High this
season, who did not play on a BHS baseball team last year, should come 
to
a meeting during lunch on Wednesday, September 8 in C128.

3.	The Weight Room in the Old Gym is open after school Monday through
Friday from 4-6 pm for all BHS students.  A Strength and Conditioning 
Coach
is available to help you.  In order to work out, you must have a valid
athletic packet on file and be dressed appropriately.  You can pick up
athletic packets in the weight room or in the athletic office.  All 
Winter
and Spring athletes are encouraged to work out in preparation for their
upcoming seasons.

4.	The most up to date athletic schedules can be viewed at any time at
<http://www.viewmyschedule.com>.   Check it out.

5.	The football season opens up this Saturday, September 4, with the 
Deer
Valley Scrimmages.  The first game is at Rodriguez High School on
September 10.  The first home game is September 17 vs. Livermore High
School.  Go Jackets!

6.	All students interested in running Cross Country see Coach Goodrich 
in
G105 or at the track for practice at 4:30 p.m.

7.	Anybody interested in playing football this season, tryouts are
currently happening.  It is important that you come see me as soon as
possible in G211 during the school day or on the football field after
school if you want to play.
