STUDENT DAILY BULLETIN

Administration

1.    Please note, Summer school has added a new class, Self Defense.  If
you are interested, please add it to your application.

2.    BSEP MEETING, June 3, 2004 4:30 -5:30 pm in conference room B.  This
is the end of the year meeting.  Please come.

3.    Tuskegee Airmen Summer Flight Academy.  An educational program for at
risk youth to absorb two weeks of intense training.   Students must be
14-18 years old, have financial need, and be willing to submit to a strict
academic regimen.  Each student receives 40 hours of ground school and
flight instruction.  No cost.  Applications available in D221.

4.    Attention Staff and Students: The Library is open this week ONLY
before school, lunch time, after school and for students returning books.
We are closed for inventory.  Please do not send students on passes.  We are
working hard to put the collection in order for next school year.  Thank
you for a successful second semester in the new library!

5.    CSF Sealbearers:  pick up your graduation tassels and cords in the
College/Career Center, D221.

Clubs
None

Sports 
1.  All returning and new interested water polo players.  There will be a
meeting at the swimming pool on Thursday, June 3, at lunchtime.  Get info
on the upcoming season.

Senior Section
1.    Caps, Gowns, and Announcements will be delivered on Thursday, June
3rd. Seniors, please make yourself available to take care of this.
Graduation is only 2 weeks away. Handle IT!

2.    Thursday, June 3:  Last day to turn in the Senior Exit report to the
College/ Career Center (if you did not do so in time for the Jacket
deadline) so that you can get your graduation tickets.


Events/ Performance
1.    Attention all BHS students and clubs.  This next Thursday join
Cultural Unity in C327 for a forum called "Isn't time for new curriculum?"
Bring your ideas about how Berkeley High can improve its curriculum and
empower its students.  Unite, educate, and organize!

2.    ATP's is doing a one act festival!  Our final performance of the year,
6 short acts of comic and dramatic brilliance by Ives, Durang, Mamet and
Gurney.  This will take place June 2-4 at 5pm in A203.  It's a free show.

3.    On Wednesday, June 2 at 3:30 in the Donahue Gym all fall, winter, and
spring athletes and all those who want to go out for a team next year
should come to pick up the new athletic packet, pick up some great
giveaways, and hear the news about the what's coming up in BHS Athletics
next year.

4.    On Thursday, June 3 at lunch all athletes who earned a 3.5 or better
during their season, and all those who increased their GPA by a full grade
point during their season will be given a free lunch party in the plaza,
compliments of the Berkeley Athletic Fund.

5.    After being named the top high school band an unprecedented two years
in a row by Monterey Jazz Festival High School competition, Berkeley High
Jazz Ensemble performs its final concert on Friday, June 4, at 7:00 pm. In
the Little Theater.  The program also features Berkeley High’s other big
band, the Lab Band, and three small combos, all under the direction of
Charles Hamilton.  Tickets are $10 general admission, $3 for students and
seniors, available at the door.
