Administration
1. NO SCHOOL MONDAY: MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY.
2. BSEP MEETING, June 3, 2004 in conference room B. This is the end of
the year meeting. Please come.
3. Overdue notices for library books are being distributed. We
appreciate your diligence in locating the missing titles. The final due
date for all books is May 28th, this allows the library time to send last
notices and do inventory in order to clear students debt records.
4. Friday, May 28 - Last day to turn in the Senior Exit report to the
College/Career Center if you would like to have your future plans printed
in the senior edition of the Jacket.
5. Friday, May 28 - Last day to turn in a Transcript Request Form to Ms.
Mellion in D173 so that we can send an official transcript to the school
you will be attending in the fall. Write in capital letters across the
top "FINAL TRANSCRIPT" and paperclip it to a stamped business-size
envelope addressed to the college. Use Berkeley High School as the return
address. If you are under 18, please remember to have a parent/guardian
sign the request form.
6. SUMMER SCHOOL applications are finally here! Come to the
Administration office, or the Counselors office to pick one up!
7. Yearbook distribution begins June 1. Check around campus for flyers
with complete details. You must have your receipt and a photo ID to pick
up your yearbook! If you lost your receipt, duplicates can be purchased
for $5 at lunch on May 27 or May 28 in H102.
Clubs
1. What are you doing this summer? Come join Youth Together for three
weeks of free and fun fieldtrips, art projects and ethnic studies. Learn
how to organize for justice in your school and community! Pick up an
application and information in the Parent Resource Center.
2. Hi! Do you like Sci Fi movies? Come join the Science Fiction Club.
We meet every Friday in C213 at lunch to show movies. This week we'll be
finishing up Star Wars: Episode VI.
3. Attention All Kickballers: We will be playing against Piedmont Friday
after school. Come by the table in the courtyard on Thursday for more
info or Friday at lunch on the softball field. Kickball for life!
Sports
None
Senior Section
1. Caps, Gowns, and Announcements will be delivered on Thursday, June
3rd. Seniors, please make yourself available to take care of this.
Graduation is only 2 weeks away. Handle IT!
2. Thursday, June 3: Last day to turn in the Senior Exit report to the
College/ Career Center (if you did not do so in time for the Jacket
deadline) so that you can get your graduation tickets.
3. LJ's Tuxedo Express will be on campus this Wednesday and Friday at
lunch taking tuxedo orders. LJ's delivers your tuxedo to you @ BHS. See
there @ lunch in the courtyard.
Events/ Performance
1. Come see Dance Projects this weekend, featuring 17 student
choreographed dances, with LIVE MUSICAL ACCOMPANIMENT. This is your
chance to see some of the most talented dancers and musicians at Berkeley
High. Shows are this Friday and Saturday, May 28 & 29 @ 8pm. In the
Little Theater. $5 students/ $10 adults. Come early - they sell out.
2. On Wednesday, June 2, at 3:30 p.m. in the Donahue Gym all fall,
winter, and spring athletesand all those who want to go out for a team next
yearshould attend to pick up the new athletic packet, some great
giveaways, and hear the news about the what's coming up in BHS Athletics
next year.
3. On Thursday, June 3 at lunch all athletes who earned a 3.5 or better
during their season, and all those who increased their GPA by a full grade
point during their season will be given a free lunch party in the plaza,
compliments of the Berkeley Athletic Fund.
4. After being named the top high school band an unprecedented two years
in a row by Monterey Jazz Festival High School competition, Berkeley High
Jazz Ensemble performs its final concert on Friday, June 4, at 7:00 pm. In
the Little Theater. The program also features Berkeley High's other big
bandthe Lab Band, and three small combos, all under the direction of
Charles Hamilton. Tickets are $10 general admission, $3 for students and
seniors, available at the door.
5. On May 30, the Concert Orchestra earned the highest rating possible at
the CMEA Orchestra Festival at San Ramon Valley High School. Your last
chance to hear these superior musicians at BHS comes next Thursday, June
3, when they present their Chamber Music Concert. This is a free concert,
in the Little Theater.
Sales
1. Yearbooks are still on sale for $65 in H102 zero period every day and
at lunch on Friday May 28th. Don't wait until they are here; price goes
up to $70 on June 2nd.
2. Senior Prom tickets on sale everyday for $70. Prices go up $5 every
week so buy your tickets today! Last day of sales is Friday, May 28th -
NO Later! Remember you must turn in your contracts and library books to
attend prom!
