Administration

1.    BART Tickets are in, please pick up in room D148.

2.    NO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY, May 21st in observance of Malcolm X holiday.

3.    Junior Prom pictures will be distributed before school, lunchtime, and
after school today. See Ruby Taylor.  No students will be given pictures
during class time.

4.    Friday, May 28 - Last day to turn in the Senior Exit report to the
College/Career Center if you would like to have your future plans printed
in the senior edition of the Jacket.

5.    Friday, May 28 - Last day to turn in a Transcript Request Form to Ms.
Mellion in D173 so that we can send an official transcript to the school
you will be attending in the fall.  Write in capital letters across the
top "FINAL TRANSCRIPT" and paperclip it to a stamped business size
envelope addressed to the college.  Use Berkeley High School as the return
address.  If you are under 18, please remember to have a parent/guardian
sign the request form.

6.    BHS SWIM TEAM: It's on!  Meet at our usual spot on Friday morning at
9:00 am.  Bring what you'd like for fun and frolicking.  See Coach Bill in
the gym if you have questions or need details.

7.    SUMMER SCHOOL applications are finally here!  Come to the
Administration office, or the Counselors office to pick one up!

8.    This month's meeting of the BHS School Site Council will be held on
Tuesday, May 25, from 4:30 - 6 p.m. in D219.  On the agenda will be
approval of the Single Plan for Student Achievement and the Safety Plan,
and a discussion of the 10th grade counseling program., academic
probation, and distribution of the Berkeley Schools Now grant to BHS.  All
members please attend.

9.    Yearbook distribution begins June 1.  Check around campus for flyers
with complete details.  You must have your receipt and a photo ID to pick
up your yearbook!  If you lost your receipt, duplicates can be purchased
for $5 at lunch on May 27 or May 28 in H102.

Clubs
1.    Earphone English Club - Three more weeks!  If you have any of our
Audio books, please bring them back at lunch on Thursday in C116 and check
in.

2.    Attention Clubs!  Aids Walk of San Francisco is in need of volunteers!
Please see Ms. McKnight if your club is interested in representing BHS and
having an opportunity to get your club recognized in community
organizations.

3.    Hey Kickballers!  No school on Friday, so come play this Thursday at
lunch.  New players welcomed.  We need to get in shape for our game
against Piedmont.  If you want to play against Piedmont, come on Thursday
or talk to Tiger.

4.     Club Day 2004 will be held on May 27th.    All BHS clubs should
participate in this lunchtime activity.  Contact Pali Jen, the club
commissioner ASAP.

Sports 
1.    Congratulations to Sam Geller for making Lacrosse All American for the
second year in a row.

2.    Attention: Badminton Players all badminton shorts must be returned or
a hold will be placed on your report card, and parents will be notified.

3.    Attention boys soccer players: 1) turn in your chocolate money.  Do
not make coach find you!  2) Those of you interested in playing in a short
tournament this weekend come see Coach Juarez in C127.  3) Some of you
still need to pick up your JV Soccer pictures.

Senior Section
1.    Chicano Latino Graduation meeting in Ms. Taylor’s class in C124.
Please come.

2.    Thursday, June 3 - Last day to turn in the Senior Exit report to the
College/ Career Center (if you did not do so in time for the Jacket
deadline) so that you can get your graduation tickets.

3.    Seniors!  Senior Ball bids will be distributed starting Wednesday,
5/19/04 on the Community Theater steps.  Only the student who purchased
the bids will be allowed to pick up the bid.  That person must their ID/
bid receipt/ and the contract turned in no exceptions!

4.    SENIOR AWARDS ASSEMBLY: Participate in the Awards Assembly to be held
on Tuesday, May 25th at 7:00 pm.  Pick up a form in the College/ Career
Center to let us know about the honors and scholarships you have received.
Deadline: May 11.


Events/ Performance
1.    Support your fellow dancers!  Come see: "HUMAN BEING HUMAN: A trio of
dances about life, death, and everything in between."  The Choreographers
class presents this fantastic show, including drums, danger and dancing
that will make your eyes pop out this Thursday and Friday, May 20-21, in
the Little Theater at 8:00 p.m.  $5 students /$10 adults.

2.    All students and staff interested in attending the Tenth Annual Asian
Pacific Islander Festival, please join us this Saturday from noon to 4pm
at the park across the street.  There will be food, games, and live
entertainment, so please feel free to drop by.

3.     Solano Stroll is Sunday, September 12.  Applications are due June 1
for Entertainers and August 1st for organizations.   They’re available
on line at http://www.solanostroll.org


Sales
1.    Yearbooks are still on sale for $65 in H102 during zero period every
day and at lunch on Thursday, May 20 and Friday May 28th.  Don't wait until
they are here. Price goes up to $70 on June 2nd.

2.    Senior Prom tickets on sale everyday for $70.  Prices go up $5 every
week so buy your tickets today!  Last day of sales is Friday, May 28th -
NO Later!  Remember you must turn in your contracts and library books to
attend prom!
