SAT WORD OF THE DAY: HOARD to secretly gather large amounts of something; stockpile. Because people hoard large numbers of pennies, the government mints many more than are required for circulation.
LOST AND FOUND: We have a number of lost and found items some of which have been in the College/Career Center for several months, some recently found. These include shoes, a bracelet, a calculator and other items. Please come by to describe them and claim your precious items.
SENIORS
SENIOR AWARDS CELEBRATION: Participate in the Awards Celebration to be held on Tuesday, May 25th at 7:00 p.m. Forms have been distributed in all senior English classes. If you have not received one, please come to the College/Career Center. DEADLINE EXTENDED TO: May 11.
JUNIORS
If you would like to be one of the MCs at the Senior Awards Ceremony on May 25th, sign up in the College/Career Center.
UC Riverside has a Guaranteed Acceptance Program (GAP). If you have a minimum 3.5 UC grade point average (10th and 11th grade classes in UC approved courses) and a minimum SAT score of 1000 or ACT of 22, you are eligible for the program. (Additional requirements for the School of Engineering and the School of Art.) The application period is June 15 through July 31, 2004. Applications available in the College/Career Center. BIGGEST COLLEGE FAIR OF THE YEAR - Saturday, May 8, 1:00-4:30 p.m. East Bay College Connection Fair at St. Marys College. Free shuttles from Orinda BART station to the fair. INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
INTERNSHIP AVAILABLE at Summer Youth Theater Program in San Francisco. Come work with kids to produce a show and get great experience working with artist/mentors on acting, music, dance, sets, costumes, or technical theater. Washington Mutual has a two year internship opportunity in the banking industry for a current sophomore student. Applications and more information is available in the College/Career Center. May 12 Late registration deadline for the June 5 SAT I and SAT II tests.
I recommend that juniors take at least one of these tests if you are considering applying to a four year college or university.

SAN O BAR Social Club Requirements: Students must have a GPA of 2.0, not exceeding 2.0.
